  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

Yeah I doubt the GV70 is close to done if Genesis is saying the on sale date will be in late 2020 or 2021. If it's ready for production, there's no reason for them to wait.

I’d like to mention that if this guy in the comment section of the video is saying the truth then I wouldn’t doubt that Genesis showed the GV70. Other brands such as FCA and Ford when doing these dealer showcases they show off vehicles that are coming in the future I.e. Ford showing off the baby Branco at an event. So now I’m not doubting that they did go and see the vehicle.

As already noted, other automakers do these previews (whether it be for the top brass from dealerships or for long-time/VIP customers).

A poster in another forum stated that he got to see the upcoming Genesis models (didn't specify), plus, the details that Mr. Carter has stated about the models is on point, so don't think there's any reason to doubt him.

As for the GV70 being shown, don't think it's suspect.

The sheetmetal design is pretty much set (if any changes are made, would be very minor and would more entail lighting element changes) - and as Carter stated - they didn't get to see the interiors aside from in a slide/video presentation.

The late 2020 or early 2021 eta for the GV70 is for the US/NA launch; the Korean market launch will be some months before that.

Why Miami tho? Seems weird.

B/C South Florida is one of the largest, if not the biggest market for Genesis.

I don’t see a radical change from wht the g80 looks like now. Hopefully when they reveal it I will be impressed.

Blind spot detection definitely looks red, as stated before. I love the red: more distinction.

The overall shape and greenhouse are similar, but the big changes are the head/taillight treatment and the shape of the grille - which are the major identifiers of vehicles these days (only so many ways to shape a sedan or CUV).

In the comments of the video, he says the dimensions are fairly similar between current gen and next gen, so it's not going up a size like a lot of remodels.

Don't you think this 2020 G90 review gives a lot of ques as to what the G80 is going to look like?
Just saw another video from the same guy, but with a V6 Twin Turbo G90. And, if it is any indication as to what the G80 will look like, then, HARD PASS! Looks like a cross between an Acura & Lincoln. I think Genesis took a step in the wrong direction with their styling.

I think the exterior styling is fine even elegant however it would not inspire me to upgrade right away. I do like the clean look of the interior. Looks like you get up to 3 split screens on the dash which is very wide. The dash is finished in leather which I prefer to the vinyl used in the current G80 dash. Not sure if there is enough there to get me to upgrade but still a very fine car. Who knows the G80 may look different but I think the grills will be similar.

I do agree also that Genesis took a step back with this styling direction, I was looking at the gv80 as a possible replacement, after seeing a YouTube video showing the gv80 in a 3D mock, I was not impress, what is up with that 3 quarter window kinking so high up, anyways just my 2 cents

The front and side views look really good. Not sure yet about the rear and have never cared for any of the interior shots. Can't wait to see everything naked to make a better determination.

Wow. Just wow. Beautiful. It looked like it was under heavy braking which drops the front, giving the illusion that it's lowered. Looks amazing. Hype is building for the real deal next month.
