If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter wheel & tire packages?

I just read yesterday on the Stinger forums that they do re-learn on key start, no dealer coding or anything like that required. I'm assuming it is the same in our case.

Just ordered a set of Touren TR60 rims (canadawheels.com) & TPMS from Amazon (52933-J5000 OEM). Searching for this part# right now I just saw another G70 forum stated the OEM TPMS will automatically pair.

What size rims did you get? Did you try putting them on yet to see if they fit?

I was thinking of ordering the TR60's for my winter set, but decided on 18" RTX Envy instead. I just tried them out and they don't clear the calipers. If the 18" TR60's fit on the 2.0T Sport with Brembos, then I'll exchange the RTX for those.

Thanks so much for posting the pic and the price breakdown. I’m thinking Of getting the exact same setup. Rims and tires same.

Do you mind sharing where you bought the rims and tires from? I haven’t seen the FC04’s for that price. The cheapest I founded was $223.99.

I’m in the Toronto area.

Thanks so much!

Anyone know where the 10 spoke oem wheels can be bought from. I have HG with the 20 spoke wheels and think it would look alot better if it wasn't grey on grey.

The dealership will have them but I doubt there are many aftermarket place that will carry them

be careful, not any 18" will clear. Some 18" has slightly less clearance than others.

I concur. Not just any 18” rim will have enough room for the Brembos. I learned the hard way. A few days ago I ordered a set of RTX Envy measuring 18 x 8, 38 offset, and the Brembos didn’t clear. The rear caliper clip just touched the inside of the wheel but it was even tighter with the front wheels. The calipers in the front completely touched the inner rim and in fact I couldn’t even get the whole wheel on all the way. So now I need to return them.

Which brings up my question. Does any know how to find out what the inside diameter of a wheel is? What is that measurement even called? I can’t find any information on the Internet. It’s a really important measurement to know if a rim will clear the calipers.

There isn't a specific measurement that would be easily looked up. I think the best test would be to ask if the wheels would fit a Mitsubishi Evo X. Those cars have large Brembo brakes that require minimum 18" wheels, and have the same bolt pattern (5x114.3mm), hub bore (67.1mm), and offset (+35mm) as the G70.

Ordered the TR60 in 18-8, offset of 50 and bore 72.62. They are backordered so don't have them yet. Open to people's thoughts on this size, I can still change/cancel my order as they are backordered until September.

Before I placed the order I read a review from someone with a G70 w/ Brembos and these rims. The verdict was they fit but the weights for wheel balancing have to be on the very outside or inside to ensure clearance on the brembos. There is a pic up with the guys review as well with the wheels/tires on his G70 over the brembos which was reassuring.. When I find it i'll post it.

Thanks for the information. It just doesn’t make sense to me why a measurement isn’t available to tell you if a wheel will clear the calipers.

I ended up ordering the Fast Wheels FC04 in titanium. Another user on this forum posted a pic of his G70 with them on and I think Genesis sold them too with their winter package so I know they’ll fit.

Because the Brembo brakes are not common. And even among Brembo brakes, ones that require an 18" wheel minimum are even less common. So when you're working with a statistical outlier, you're going to run into problems like this.

The part of the wheel that the brakes were hitting is necessary for mounting tires, but conveying the inner diameter of this part and its positioning in relation to the rest of the wheel would be cumbersome to convey. Wheel manufacturers will just design their wheels to clear most brakes. The better ones will make sure they clear the bigger brakes.

I have the XXR-568's in route (in Chromium Black). 18" x 8.5" +38 offset. Tried them out at Discount Tire and they fit.

Do you mean you ordered the 40 offset? I don’t believe they make that rim in 50. If so, you probably don’t want an offset that high especially for the front which has an OEM offset of 34

Hey everyone I just want to share with you my winter setup. So I went with Fast Wheels FC04 in titanium. I really wanted a silver rim to have something different from the dark summer rims but I don’t want to end up with wheels that don’t clear the Brembos and have pay to ship them back.

Specs:
18 x 8
40 offset
Purchased a set of plastic hub rings (72.1 - 67.1 mm)
Ordered TPMS sensors on Amazon (52933-J5000)
Come fall I will mount these onto a set of X-Ice 225/45/18

I’m not sure if you can tell from my pictures but there is plenty of clearance for the calipers. (Unlike the RTX Envy’s that I’m now in the process of returning). I would estimate that there is at least 8mm of clearance which is very good. Probably little chance that small rocks will get caught in between.

Thank you to SVTong who posted his info and pic of the same setup and rims. My G70 is also in Mallorca Blue. Hopefully we don’t run into each other in the winter! The difference is I went with the 40 offset whereas he opted for 30.

BTW the part number to get is FC04-1880-65TN+40C726. I enquired about the exact same part number with the “A” after the 4. That one does not have predrilled holes at the factory and costs a few bucks more.

I hope this helps. Remember, not just any 18” wheel will clear our large Brembos even if you think you selected a model that checks off all the correct known measurements.

Yup, typo on my part. They are the 40 offset.

Not sure if this is ok, but I traded in my G70, and now I have my winter set of wheels left to sell. Info can be found here.

Enkei DRACO 18" - Anthracite mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+s. Entire setup is pretty much new. Asking $1200 cash with local pickup in the greater Chicago area (NW Suburbs but willing to meet halfway). PM me.

Where did you order the wheels from? I'm in the GTA area as well :)

I got them from PartsEngine.ca. Very good service and they arrived in two days. They price matched from WheelWhiz.ca which at the time had a lower price but I’ve noticed that prices fluctuate so you’ll have to do your research for the best price.

I just ceramic coated the wheels myself so now they’re all ready for tires to be mounted come winter.
