  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

I’m a big fan of the sport back look. I still remember the day the A7 was released...fell in love. Until that RS7 bitch came out ;)

Still think those rims are my favourite design on any new car.

Is that brake dust on the front wheels? Pushing it a bit hard!

The real exhaust has a surrounding to prevent heat and vibration transferring to the bumper. You can see the exhaust pipe inside.View attachment 22151
The shape is non-traditional and can take getting used to. Certainly would not be a deal breaker, at least for me.

Yes that’s a lot of break dust. Worst thing about cleaning cars is right there.

From the comparison video between the current G80 and the new one it sure looked fake to me. I thought they were going the Acura route with the exhaust but I hope they keep the functional exhaust outlets

What I found really disappointing last year was when the new Audi models (A6,A7,Q8) came out they had the fake exhaust outlets. What was really bad was that you could see the real exhaust pipe peaking out below them.

Reason why these newer vehicles are coming with this type of style is because to reduce the vibration in the bumper area. A lot of manufacturers are doing this now.

One of the trim levels appears to have fake: trim piece covering rather than leading to a hole. Another has real, the exhaust hole leads out of the surrounding and you can see in.

Seems like the gear selector is a rotating knob (not sure how I feel about that, but probably prefer it to the button-type that's in the Palisade).

Difficult to tell simply from low quality pics, but seems like the tactile feel of the switchgear (in partiular, the knobs w/ the metal trim) should be better (hopefully, they have the proper weight to the feel).

I remember mentioning awhile back that the G80/GV80 was going to have a rotary gear selector all the way behind the scroll wheel for the infotainment system. Seems like that came true. But odd how Genesis really applies it here. Why is it so far back when it should be where the Infotainment switch wheel should be. Looks really awkward when you put yourself behind the wheel. Also kind of seems like the infotainment system might not be touchscreen because of how far back it is in other spy photos.

I’m wondering if no touchscreen is better? Because it eliminates fingerprints and smudges. I’m sure they’ve found a good solution.

It won’t really remove smudges because if you have someone come into the car they would think it is a touchscreen.

You just tell them before or when you get in?

I think genesis is going with a more Korean styling with the new vehicles. Now that they have their foot in the door they don’t have the follow the Japanese or German designs.
