  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where I can find a place around Dallas to do my spark plugs. I called a few places around me and they either won't work on it or talked to me like an idiot for wanting to replace spark plugs on a brand new car. I even got asked why I think I'm smarter than Korean engineers who designed the system, even after I explained the purpose of replacing them. Oh, they wanted to charge $270 :)

I got a magnetic swivel socket with a 6 inch overall length and a 3/8” swivel and changed them myself and everyone of them was a piece a cake, the one under the intake manifold just have to work out a little bit but it wasn’t as bad as everybody says.

But I digress I have been wrenching on cars for almost 49 years, I may not know a bunch about the new fangled electronics but taking it apart put it together was easy for me

Perfect advice. I used a 1/4” ratchet and ratchet extension, and a 10mm socket and that did fine to reach the passenger side middle coil bolt.

Remove the passenger side front and rear coils first, then the middle coil can be wiggled out with the space you’ve made by removing the front/rear coils. Then replace the spark plugs (don’t forget to gap them!)

Doing them the first time is a little intimidating. But now that I’ve done mine, I’m pretty sure I could change all 6 in under an hour if I had to do it again. (No need to remove the intake manifold.)

Oh and don’t freak out if the boot comes off the coil pack. It’s just a long rubber sleeve with a spring down the middle. I just put it back together and reinstalled it and no worries.

I did an experiment similar pull the fuel wires off on map 3 7th gear pull 70ish to 102 or so they look almost identical with or without the fuel wire

FW only work on Map 2 and higher...and high RPM’s.

If both your AFR1 and AFR2 are moving and your fuel enrichment...”fuelen” column...(only under WOT) are showing values other than 0, they’re working. Fuel enrichment will be 0 at any other time aside from WOT. It may show as 0 for moments when approaching and initial moments of WOT and during gear changes.

So do another run with some manual shifts. But analyze your graphs closely first to confirm.

Yes the fuelen is showing 10-35 at higher rpms. And the AFR is 12-11.6 Just wondering if the extreme temps it needs a different AFR

Oh well I’ll just set it on Map 2 and run 91 octane and settle for that. Can’t change the weather right.

I managed to snag a lightly used JB4 a few days ago. I will replace my Racechip Black GTS with the JB4 once I can get my hands on plug and play fuel wire harnesses. What is the best place to get the plug and harnesses from?

JB4 comes with everything. If it didn’t come with Fuel Wires...order from BMS. Older units it was separate...newer units have them.

To connect the Fuel Wires without Posi-Taps...get these plug-n-play connectors...

The JB4 has the fuel wires included, it is those plug and play connectors that I was looking for. I was hoping for an alternate source since I'd likely be waiting awhile for the connectors from that dude as he only sends them out once a month. Makes we wonder which is faster, Racechip Black GTS or JB4 with no fuel wires.

Thanks dude, these look perfect.

You can also easily build your own:

Just ordered my JB4 with the spark plugs from BMS for my G70 3.3t Sport RWD 😄
any idea how much power I’ll have since i have the BMS intakes and a catback exhaust.

Also should I be taking my car to a shop to get the spark plugs replaced or is it possible to do myself. Risky at all?
Thanks for the help.

How about on 93 octane (all I have here in GA in my area) guesstimate
Map 2 is fine. Map 3 is pushing it...depends how good it is.

I use BOOSTane Pro to get 93 up to 99...and Map 3 is a monster.
