  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

The car does everything it can to perform a soft launch, thus preserving the drivetrain long term. After you get going, it's wicked fast. At least according to Beefer and others ;)

I'm really interested in the JB4. My 3.3 is on a lease so I've been hesitant to buy it for this car. I know for the genesis I buy 3 years from now I'll definitely be buying it. I know the JB4 will greatly improve the performance, but I saw another post somewhere where some of the other components of a car couldn't handle the additional power, for example; sparkplugs. Has that been an issue for you? Is the JB4 the only installed component or did you add some other parts as well?

I'm also interested in the times as well, does it become a sub-4 or 4-4.5s car?
All piggybacks need better spark plugs for guaranteed performance and reliability. ECU tunes don't necessarily cause you can adjust timing in the tune!

Spark plugs need upgrading if doing Map 2 or higher.

I have nothing else installed.

JB4 is removable in 2 minutes prior to dealer visit...untraceable.

As for specifics...read this thread and the JB4 thread.

I can't wait to get one either, I think its next on my list. My only concern is over on the stinger forum several have complained about slow above 5 second 0 to 60 times with map 2. When I hear Beefer talk about his it gets me excited again.

That’s cause our cars a bitch to launch consistently. Stupid transmission trying to protect itself in LC mode!

Stinger 1/4 mile times have been pretty good with JB4 though - even without the brake line mod.

Just passed my 1 year anniversary (by 4 days).

In shock I’ve had it for a year.

Zero issues. 6k miles.

I still smile every time I get in it. I know I said this a year ago...but I’ll say it again...best car purchase of my life.

Almost sad I have less than 2 years left. Genesis better get the facelift out (or N version) before 2 years!!

I ended up leasing too. Plan is/was to buy it out at the end of the lease but the redesign might be too tempting haha

My plan is to sell...and make money off the lease. I have 6k miles in one year...but that’s forced (enjoying new ride, etc).

I bet after 3 years...I’ll be at ~14k miles...very attractive.

Lease is 30k.

Move the money towards my next G70!

In three years you'll put on less miles than I will in my first year. Heck on a test drive over a weekend before a bought the car I put over 1000 miles on a G70 (I didn't buy that one) lol. Interesting to see the differences, my car will be worth dust.... Haha

Damn. I'd be pissed if someone took a car and put 1,000 miles on it and then didn't buy it. Yeesh.

Actually...in Canada...they have dedicated testers. Is that’s what you drove?

While in Toronto (Aug 2018)...I had a tester for 24 hours. Drove the living shit out of it 😜

I mean... I'm speaking from the point of the dealership. Sure they hate having a new car on the lot with that many miles on it. Especially a car with a price tag over $40k.

I know I've passed on cars in the past because they appeared to have been test drove a ton and had 500+ miles.(Dealer didn't want budge much on price because "sure it has miles but it's brand new though") Luckily I found the exact car elsewhere with like only 40 miles.

Yeah...these testers are not for sale...well perhaps eventually. They are dedicated testers.
