  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2020 Genesis G90 5.0 V8 Review - Sounds great! Loud, Bold & Luxury Sedan from Genesis.

Well folks, I bought a 2018 Mercedes-Benz S450 today. "I know..." but the deal [once negotiated] was simply too good to pass up. Also, this one looked immaculate as compared to the S560 I spent time with over the weekend. I found it at a Jeep dealership of all places. I did my research. The MB dealership right across the street would have wanted 10K more for this car.

I still wish I could have sat in and experienced a 2020 G90 before making my decision but Hyundai doesn't seem to care about that.

So, it is not available so they don't care?

Just sour grapes. He had to settle for a 2018 (used?) instead of getting a new 2020

I think the big problem with Genesis now is that a lot of people got their hands on G90 2-3 years ago and those leases are due right about now. I would think quite a few of those people would be looking to get into a new G90 (if they didn't have any horrible experience with it, I know I didn't and my default choice will be another G90), and now they can't. So Genesis might be losing business left and right from the most devoted group of people.

i don’t believe your last sentence follows logically. I don’t believe that quite a few people are looking to change immediately. Folks who had a good experience may very well gladly chose to keep their G90 until the new Genesis model comes along. No business lost. they know what good value is and will be.

It flows, trust me. If I am leasing and want to lease my next vehicle, I don't want to get a bridge loan to realize a bigger financial loss in a few months and neither do I want to come up with a balloon out of pocket payment to realize similar loss later. Those who go from lease to lease will probably be gone.

My lease is not coming due until next August, so I expect to see both new G90 and GV80 to have a choice. Those whose leases expire sooner will have a choice to make, and Genesis can't really expect or be sure they'll make a Genesis-favorable choice.

Congratulations..Enjoy your car. I am waiting for 2020 G90 as well and hope I can get one before my lease expire Feb 2020.

Couldn't say it any better

That and not so brilliant executives who ruined the brand so far in the states and can't calculate what's for next.

was told 2020s are sitting at ports. some issue with EPA That won’t be resolved until feb-March . My lease expires next month and car has been one of my favorites. Just extending my current lease on month to month basis until 20s show up.

On the Cadillac topic... CT6-V as far as i remember is north of 6 digits, so a no-starter. Is CT6 a competitor to G80/G90 at all?
I drove a ‘16 V6 CT6 at a Cadillac dealer after driving a new’19 V6 G90. It wasn’t a fair comparison in that the Cadillac was used and three years older than the Genesis. The Cadillac was definitely nice and the interior was beautiful. The Genesis, though, was a step up from the Cadillac. It was like comparing a luxury car to a premium luxury car. The Genesis was like butter. It reminded me of my ‘08 Lexus 460 L in almost every way, which is about the highest compliment I can give a car. So I walked away deciding I wanted a G90, not a CT6. I also have done a lot of research on reliability and the Cadillac just isn’t as reliable as the Genesis and I want something extremely reliable like my Lexus was. Can you tell I miss my Lexus?

I am concerned, though, that I’ll be unhappy with the Hyundai dealer regarding service. I know it won’t be like my experiences at Lexus and I do wonder if I had a Cadillac what I would think about their service.

Perhaps a bad choice of words but is it frustrating to me.

You seem to be taking this a little personally which I don't understand. I would never refer to your choice of how you spend your hard-earned money as "sour grapes" and I doubt most would consider a 2018 S Class as "settling" either.

Congratulations..Enjoy your car. I am waiting for 2020 G90 as well and hope I can get one before my lease expire Feb 2020.

Thank you sir!

Just to expound, it was a tough decision to part with my 2015 Genesis but the depreciation was catching up to me and I felt I had to make a decision sooner than later. I considered a 2019 G90 but, with no Android Auto or Apple Carplay I couldn't see buying one, especially since they are not even being discounted in my area.

As for the 2020 G90, it is by all indications an amazing car but the wheels were a concern for me from day one. I figured if I saw the real car I might change my mind but there seemed to be no clear indication of when that would be and, as mentioned above, the depreciation clock was ticking on my 2015. The lack of a digital instrument cluster was also something I had trouble with in this segment.

We all know Mercedes-Benz has had reliability issues over the years but, to a person, every S Class owner I spoke to said they loved their cars and had not experienced serious issues. That aside, I'll probably still purchase an extended warranty.

For those of you who do end up getting your hands on a 2020 G90, congratulations in advance. I look forward to hearing your impressions.

Gunny, I think you made the best choice that works for you and thank you for sharing it. There are others in your same situation and your experience/decision is good source of opinion to them.

That actually makes sense. I couldn't understand why it would be out already in Canada, which is also a much smaller market and not out at the same time in the U.S.

Where did you get the idea of a bridge loan. I think you may be thinking of real estate just extend your lease month by month and you will be ready when the new G90 is.

While I appreciate the insight you provide, I fail to equally appreciate your snipping at people here and there throughout the thread. A bit of kindness and empathy for fellow forum members might go a long way. Jus' sayin'.

certainly no sniping intended. Is there something I said that you didn’t like? i just suggested paying month by month after your lease expires. Just trying to give you some ways to get what you want

There's an intent and then there's a perception.
I apologize while my perception missed your intent. However, as I scroll through the thread I found myself not to be alone wishing for a bit more civilized and respectful exchange.
And again, your knowledge and suggestion are appreciated.

I hear what you are saying. I admit self restraint is put to the test when others (not you in any way) just lob an unfounded comments as a parting shot

Some car manufacturers, not sure if Genesis is one of them allow lease extension 3-6 months
