Winter wheel & tire packages?

I picked up my tires and rims from Tire Rack. I store the tires/rims not in use in a storage unit I have for other purposes. If you fold the seats down, all 4 tires fit in the G70. Order the Tire Rack wheel covers to keep things neat.

Thanks for the advice. I baby my car so I'm going to do 2 runs to drop the tires at my place from the tire shop. I don't know where you're from but in Canada, most dealers will charge you a small fee to store your tires for you. Here in the US, I can't seem to find a place that does that in my current city (all the places I called were shocked that other places actually even do this).

As shown, the overall tire diameter is eventually unchanged, so no speedo error.

I was thinking over thousands of kilometers/miles not over a single mile but you're right; in the long term it's probably not much difference.

Yeah, don't forget that just normal wear will change their diameter by 1-2%.

That's also a very good point haha. I'll just go with 18s and Blizzaks. Also, as superpatel kindly pointed out, the offset on the 19s I was thinking about would probably cause an issue.

You're most welcome. I'm glad it was helpful and yes, I keep spending money on silly things haha. Also I'm not sure if your storage location is heated but I would be uncomfortable putting my summer tires in a storage locker in winter because the temperatures will get really cold and ruin the rubber.

There’s a chain here in the Midwest, Belle Tire, and they store the off-season wheels and tires in a temperature controlled environment for $85. They call it Valet Service. The tech was cool enough to show me pics of the storage facility and explained that they inspect and wash everything before sending them back. I received a detailed receipt of what they took into possession. So far so good. I’ll have final thoughts when I have them put back on next year.

I found a shop near me that store them for $10 a month. If I had room in my storage unit I'd put them there, but going with this shop is way cheaper than buying another unit.

What's the minimum offset for a new set on the 3.3 AWD? 40 and up?

I've seen a lot of folks mention Enkei, I'm guessing they're pretty good wheels? Don't want something that's going to buckle under the first pothole I hit.

per this website the offset for the back is 46.5. A lot of people were saying there are issues with anything above 42 offset.

That was my initial thought just looking around here, I clearly have no idea what I'm doing.

Was thinking 18" with the winters and keeping the same radius I have now.

Nah, it's a local place here in Northern VA. I was thinking that with all the money around here I could just get a warehouse somewhere and set up a storage shop myself. Turns out someone already did that. Dulles Car Concierge
