  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Reviews

"Additional Product Detail" on Feb 14 will coincide with opening day of the Toronto auto show. I bet they have pricing and packages ready as that will be the question everyone will want to know at the auto show. They need to able to talk about their product and features and support the value proposition vs the competition. They will also direct potential customers to the website for pre-orders, or more likely have Genesis reps take pre-order deposits on the spot.

Do we know if the camera in the inside rear mirror will work as a permanent dash cam? I saw the promotional first video the day of the premier and the guy driving shows starting recording pressing a button on the mirror but not clear if can be used as a permanent dash cam.

Yes...it has front/back cameras that record. It is on the GV80 website.

Just for curiosity Beefer, do you mind to share the link for the GV80 website you mentions?

So, I just went through and I don't see anything mentioned about Dash Cam even the option for recording as I mentioned before. Maybe is under a different description other than Dash Cam?
Look on the Technology tab...I think it was near where they discuss the Digital Key.

Pretty detailed overview. Interesting to see that the front suspension is double wishbone, whereas all previous Genesis sedans were multi-link. The E-LSD also sounds like a big deal; being able to send 100% of the power to the back on the AWD. Curious to see how well this handles.

Also neat to know that it has soft-close doors, which I don't think was mentioned in any other review.

FYI (@Edmguy)...first mention of any towing...
"Trailer towing isn't a thing in Korea, but there will be an aftermarket (perhaps dealer-installed) solution for the U.S. and Australia."

Very strange to have an after market towing option when you are also trying to get into the US market. That's a non starter for many. I'm concerned about resale value in an SUV without towing. I know many don't even think about it in the US, but many of us do. This is the first time I've seen that addressed, so thanks. Not a deal breaker for me, but I know it will be for most of my friends as they won't want to deal with having to attach an after market hitch each time. most have a built in post with a nice cover on the bumper as we have all seen or owned. Hmmmm.....

What concerns me about that, is a dealer simply installing a hitch isn't good for more than maybe a bike rack if there is no 9 pin connector, and a plug under the dash for a trailer brake controller. And most aftermarket hitches are not hidden very well.

Not a deal breaker for me, but it makes no sense at all. How can you make a world class SUV and not engineer it into the product. I would potentially use if for a bike rack, but since it won't be built in with a cover, I'd never want to use it. I guess folks in high end SUV's don't use hitches.
