  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

NO SUPPORT FROM GENESIS CORPORATE?

I speculate OP was flimflammed with a piece of paper, and a lawyer will have to determine if it's a genuine CPO, or just a one-time inspection checklist.
Before you can say flimflammed you would have to see how paperwork spells out what CPO is. The phrase CPO has gotten thrown around quite a bit here without seeing anything in the sales agreement to back it up.

If it's all small things you want done more often, do it yourself, oil changes, cabin air filters..., Those are all easy to do, and if you can't, any mechanic can do that stuff for cheap.
Dealer is not the only place to get things done, forget that place.

In the US, car makers have little control over the dealers as they are independently owned. If you have paperwork showing you were sold showing it was sold as a CPO you can expect to get what goes with it. If you can show you were scammed by the dealer you may have a case against the dealer but corporate would have nothing do do with it.

No one here can see your paperwork and what you claims are for and determine if they are valid or not. I don't know how many filters and oil changes you want versus what is needed in less than a year.
Just a guess o my part, if the dealer is threatening a restraining order your conversations did not go well. In the case of most unhappy customer confrontations. as soon as you raise your voice and curse, you lost. If that was the situation it will be difficult to come to a happy resolution. There may be some lawyers here but most of us are not and cannot give legal advice. Perhaps you should visit one.
Hi Ed,
You seem to be real sarcastic about what I should or should do. I though this was a forum where we could talk about our vehicles and experiences. I don’t know you from Adam. I did get wronged by a dealer and HE will pay the price. Who really cares how many oil changes I received from him. The bottom line is he is in breech of contract on four contracts that are Exclusive to his dealership. He has been doing this for years to his customers and clients. He originally was a ford dealer, then he changed to Chevrolet, then GM, now he has been a Hyundai for some years and he just inherited GENESIS BY DEFAULT! See the pattern here? I do. So will our California Attorney General and FTC as well as Consumer Affairs and Genesis. I love my car and plan on keeping it for a long time. I am planning on changing Dealerships and If I go to one closer to my home, good for me.

You have to expect when you post something, folks are going to comment. If you just posted it as a rant then I hope it was therapeutic for you. If you expected folks to sympathize and support you, you are going to have to post some documentation or else it it just a one sided story. It’s our business because you make it our business. Nobody is supporting the dealer’s side but there are just too many things that are confusing in what you posted, and the capitalization doesn’t make it any clearer.

Not sarcastic but I am cynical. Yes, we can talk about our experiences but we don't have all the information. I have no idea what your contract is. I have no idea if you are getting more of less than contracted. I've participated on many forums and newsgroups for years and I see many posts that leave out important facts. I also have many years of experience dealing with customers and expectations. I know the importance of keeping your word.

If you were wronged, I hope you get satisfaction, that you get what you deserve, but I don't know from the scant facts provided. I mention number of oil changes because there is a reasonable number. Are you asking only for that or for more? Same with tire rotations. Normally done with an oil change but are you asking for more? Promised more? I don't know.

I also do not know what transpired that you were asked to leave and threatened with a restraining order. When it gets to that level, things are not going well and your chances of getting anything at that point go to zero. Rare, but I've dealt with customers that disrespected our employees. They learned not to.

Many car dealers are scoundrels. If you got screwed I hope you get what you deserve but many facts are lacking so no one here can say for sure what the outcome will or should be. Good luck.

Ok Everyone, I have 2 copies of all documentation to date. One is going to the CA state Attorney Generals office and one is going to the Federal Trade Commission. It is late, I will post all docs that pertain to the CPO of my vehicle to all of you as well and will hold nothing back. I actually recorded the last conversation just in case he decides to deny all that was said. I have a Dr. Appointment tomorrow and should be free by four PM. I will have it posted by 5:30 pm PST. THANK YOU EVERYONE‼️

Knock yourself out. All I’d really like to see is your written list of “CPO promises” that the dealer gave you. Without that “foundation,” your case has no support.

I actually recorded the last conversation just in case he decides to deny all that was said.
Hope you let him know that the conversation was being recorded.

Otherwise, it is inadmissible as evidence in court.

And he could actually come after you for secretly recording him.

It’s also a $2,500 fine, or one year in jail. Fortunately, it’s just a misdemeanor, so you won’t lose your voting rights.

Here’s all the documents you need to have a blow out discussion. My vehicle is being serviced on Wednesday for 20k service and I just put on new Michelin 4s Summer Tires. Anyone need any more paperwork? I have nothing to hide. This Dealership Does though. Docs are now in front of an Attorney, The FTC, Cal State Attorney Generals office, Genesis Corporate and the only place on the car that has any reference to the Hyundai name is on the motor and the vin badge on the drivers sidewall. Now you have docs to look at and render your opinions.

Looks like an extended service contract to me...the good news, is you're covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

That has nothing to do with being a CPO, which is something completely different. If the dealer told you this was proof of a CPO vehicle, he lied. On the other hand, if all the dealer told you was you have 10 year coverage from the vehicle in-service date, that's what you have...and I suspect there is also a form in your deal package stipulating the dealer has offered no waranty on this vehicle.

Oh, sorry...I only saw the top form....disregard my previous comment.

The dealer dfid sign a CPO checklist in addition to the delivery check-list, and gave you a 10 year warranty (from first date of service).

I know. The sad thing is I’m not the only one he has done this to. He has 55 Yelp Posts Not Recommended for viewing where some of the complaints are buried. Hopefully, The Cal Attorney General will step up and put him out of business. He cannot just take the money and then not perform service work on vehicles just because he does not want to or it costs him money.

A couple of comments for ya.....
3.) A maintenance agreement for three years or 30,000 miles, which ever comes first. No limit on the amount of all the changes or work. This is considered a heavy duty climate so they want oil changed every 3000 miles
Where do you get that there is "No limit on the amount of all the changes or work"? The "Maintenance Plus" contract, that you initialed, shows 5000 mile increments for the oil changes.

And who is "they"? The ones that want the oil changed every 3000 miles.....not Hyundai. Hyundai recommends 3750 mile increments for severe usage.
.... and the only place on the car that has any reference to the Hyundai name is on the motor and the vin badge on the drivers sidewall.
It doesn't reference Hyundai externally because somebody already swapped out the "H" trunk emblem for the winged Genesis emblem. It didn't come from the factory with that emblem on it. Either the previous owner or the selling dealer did that.

That being said, it certainly looks like you have CPO paperwork. And based on your statements, it appears they did not do everything (anything?) that was supposed to have been done to make it a CPO vehicle. And being as you have an attorney (more than 1, I'm told) that is willing to pursue it free of charge, I say turn it over to them and let them do their thing. Good luck with it all.

not "cpo" that is a extended warranty. with that said your car is under warranty.

Aren't the first 4 images in Post #31 the CPO paperwork?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The first thing that becomes apparent is that you got shaken down and paid for $4 thou worth of extras!!!! Extended warranty, paint protection and tires.

The second thing I noticed is that the CPO checklist has two columns: “Meets Standards” and “Service Required.” The line for engine air and cabin air filters says they can either be replaced at purchase time, or at service interval. The dealer checked the Meets Standards column. So, what crime did he commit that proves your claim that he “forged” the CPO? Do you mean that he lied, as opposed to “forged?”
