  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

NO SUPPORT FROM GENESIS CORPORATE?

I had the same thought. Posting your full name, address, signature, license plate, etc on a public forum is not a good idea. Not good for spouse either. Using Google can easily find more info. Identity theft is rampant.

It's probably too late, but maybe the OP could ask a moderator to delete the post with all of that personal information.

Hi, I bought a Genesis G80 3.8 V6 CPO with the Ultimate and Tech Package. I purchased in on June 12, 2019 from La Quinta Hyundai and Genesis and have had to bring it in for service numerous times for services that should have been performed I’m the CPO Checklist. Bobby Calloway is the GM and I know he is sick of me asking for oil changes, filters inside the cabin and outside as well. I have had the tires rotated more than once and a host of other issues. He now claims he NEVER CERTIFIED THE VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED PREOWNED CAR. THEY COST HIM TOO MUCH MONEY. HE TOLD ME TO GET OFF HIS LOT OR HE WOULD CALL THE POLICE AND FILE A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST ME. This was on March 30th, 2020. I sent the paperwork to the Corporate Office Consumer Affairs Department after spending 3.45 hours on the phone.

I Summarized and Copied The Three Top Executive in Fullerton’s Hyundai & Genesis HQ. Mark Del Rosso-Genesis CEO/ Pres, William Lee, Genesis Excutive VP & Global Advisor & Jose Munoz who is the Hyundai Global COO. I also copied Natalia B at Genesis Consumer Affairs on Case #16898686.
All these people were sent Overnight Via FedX to arrive this Friday. I called on this case on April 03,
and tried reaching anyone? No one would answer the phone. I finally recieved a phone call from a women named TANA from HYUNDAI and she claimed I would have to deal with this dealer all by myself as Corporate has NO CONTROL OVER THEIR DEALERS‼ SHE REFUSED ANY HELP! I had to call her back and ask for her reply to be put in writing!

ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY BAD ISSUES WITH GENESIS OR HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICES?
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO GO FROM HERE? I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BAD OF SERVICE BEFORE IN MY LIFE.! WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE???
It has a lot to do with the NEW leadership (Jose Munoz) at Hyundai/Genesis. The guy came from Nissan and we all know the damage caused by their bad decisions while working there

Are you saying that Munoz will be bad for Hyundai? Not sure it can get much worse, at least Genesis.

Even if they apply Infiniti practices to Genesis, it'll be an improvement.

Just to make this clear, this guy Munoz has nothing to do with Genesis. José Muñoz is the Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company and the president and CEO of both Hyundai Motor North America and Hyundai Motor America.

Furthermore his car is a Hyundai not a Genesis brand. So please stop muddying that waters by dragging Genesis into whatever point you are trying to make. Read the entire thread. He made a mistake calling it a Genesis. it is a 2015 Hyundai.

It is a simple thing a company that let's the tail wiggle the dog can not survive. So I do not believe you will ever see a Genesis stand alone dealer

I thought Genesis was a subdivision of Hyundai. So the CEO and COO Hyundai positions have no effect over Genesis, not even parts?

I understand the OP bought a Hyundai Genesis.

He bought a used car from a dealer that happened to sell Hyundai.

Now his complaint to the dealer may be legitimate but that is between buyer and dealer. It is really no different than if you bought than buying a 5 year old Ford Escort from Louie Lemoni's Good Used Cars. If you had a beef with Louie would you expect Ford to step in?

Ah, but dogs waggle their tails. They don’t wiggle them.

The first thing that becomes apparent is that you got shaken down and paid for $4 thou worth of extras!!!! Extended warranty, paint protection and tires.

The second thing I noticed is that the CPO checklist has two columns: “Meets Standards” and “Service Required.” The line for engine air and cabin air filters says they can either be replaced at purchase time, or at service interval. The dealer checked the Meets Standards column. So, what crime did he commit that proves your claim that he “forged” the CPO? Do you mean that he lied, as opposed to “forged?”

YES, Ernie! That’s exactly what I mean. When you add up all the items that were not done when I bought my Genesis, and the fact that when I asked for items to be replaced, (oil) redone, clay, and remove water spots and wax the car, and items that were never looked at, or repaired when he got the vehicle back from the lease, he sold me a used car. And 4K of useless contracts that he was never going to honor. He F****D me good as you would probably say. He had the balls to call the police when I had to go back to his dealership to pick up my wheel lock key from the service department.

So I have cancelled 2 contracts, one is being taken care of by Southwest Dealer Services and the other contract is in Dispute with the same companies corporate executives now. Meanwhile, I purchased a Hyundai Extended Warranty backed by Hyundai and that will cover the car for 7 more years and 120,000 miles. The only thing this does not cover is the usual tires, brakes, wipers. Everything else is covered bumper to bumper including lights, rotors, etc.

My next step is to calculate out of pocket costs lost, damages and take him to court. Even the police said this is a typical situation for this guys dealership and just take him to court. They did nothing to me when he called them except to warn me to stay away from his dealership because he is trouble. No problem. I dislike the man, will win in court and learned a valuable lesson. That’s just part of life. You actually seem more worked up about it than I am. I have a great car, a great home, a life I am grateful for every day and I am lucky to be alive. I’m also very happy with my life. Can you say the same?

I wonder if this is the time to mention that there is no such thing as Santa Claus.

Means didly...its Hyundai vehicle period. I bought a 2018 3.3T Sport CPO and the paperwork says Hyundai. There is no Genesis (only) paperwork that I've seen. Genesis wesbite even list...."GENESIS IS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK OF HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED © 2020 HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA."

And the Lexus website says “Lexus, a Division of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.” so I guess Lexus is a Toyota, right?
Anyone bought a Genesis that has Genesis on the paperwork?

My 2017's paperwork says "Hyundai G80". My 2019's says "Genesis G80" everywhere, on all the paperwork. No mention of "Hyundai" anywhere.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
@socalsunbear7 hasnt been on the forum since May. Is this thread still about his misadventures with the dealer and the CPO issue?

We had a reply, which revived it.

TLDR - The details are in the contracts. Read them and understand them.

Trademark or Branding =/ Ownership. I'm referring to the company that actually produces the car. No difference than GM having Chevy, Buick, and GMC as brands. The 2019 loaner I'm currently in pictured below has hyundai parts all in it (like mine) and the manufacturing code even says Hyundai Motor Corp. All my paperwork on my '18 says Hyundai. They have make listed as Genesis but the letterheard, dealer name, tag filing all have Hyundai on it. My CPO form is the same way as his. Now perhaps a year ago Genesis of ATL didn't have all the "official" Genesis paperwork at the time of purchase. All I can tell you is what is on mine.
