  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

Good to know. I'll poke around more to see if there is a setting Mine is the same but 2018
I think mine "split" automatically when I neared the decision point - hard to remember, I haven't really used my NAV since May!

Where can I get "Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now)?

Correct, but it has not done it. There is a "full screen" check box I will uncheck and try.

What I don't like about the built in GPS is you have to be in Park to use it. If I wanted to add a stop while I was driving, I'd have to pull over. With Android Auto, all you have to do is "OK Google". My ultimate doesn't have AA obviously but I still find myself using the phone for nav instead of the onboard. It's just easier to find stuff.

I just use the Genesis App on my phone to send it to the car, instead of pecking it out on the touchscreen. Also has the added advantage of doing it inside before I even head to the car...

first world problems indeed, I don't carry a smart cell phone (just a pay as you go in case of emerg) so I used to print out the map info i needed on paper before a trip. I don't need the map at all when driving locally, but it will be really handy on out of town trips especially to the states.

The GPS in the newer models can be used while driving, just press the button on the steering wheel and say where you want to go. Like, if I press it and say "Walmart", it will list the local Walmart's in the area. I can pick the one I want by saying the line number, such as "three". That's it, it begins navigation.

But yeah, Android Auto is nice, too.

I've got the "Idiot Cousin" in my car - it has no clue what I'm talking about. My old 2005 Acura responded far better to voice commands than the Genesis.

Wish I could do that but the early models in Canada didn't have bluelink so no app. I don't even have a bluelink button. But what if you wanted to punch in a destination while you're already on the road? You'd still have to pull over to do it legally.

Or, "OK Google, take me to the Walmart on Main Street". It's even better for when you can't remember the name something like "OK Google, take me to the museum with the dinosaur exhibit" The car's voice recognition gets the wrong command half the time... lol

@ SuperKing - Have to agree on voice recognition being almost useless.

This must be a model / head unit issue - or, maybe my radio just understands "Texan" better than other dialects - I have no issue with the system understanding what I say. Just speak clearly and try to mimic a monotone robot. Works great, every time.

Now that the update prices are so cheap, I was about to pull trigger on the update #14 but when I went to MapnSoft site, the "buy now" button is gone and I see a note saying that update 14.5 is right around the corner, so I guess I'll wait it out a bit longer.

Here's the current updater client. They have the same client for both KR/EN. Web devs are just being lazy and dropped a popover on top of the download button. Update requires an SD card that is LESS than 32GB in formatted size, since the head unit update utility doesn't know what to do with bigger partitions.

The Navigation Updater has been significantly improved and has an updated interface. Update is trucking right along:

The new update added dozens of new navigation options. Now it’s well and truly configurable.

Can this work for my Hyundai Genesis 2012?

It works great... but how do I know which version it is downloading? Did I miss it? I already have V14.

It wants FAT32 on a 32 GB card......
