Yes, just a poi and map update. The readme file only shows software updates for v14.0. This is 14.5.I think this was just a map update?
Like I said in a previous post.... It's like you're riding with "Idiot Cousin"!Had to buy a new SD card since my Hyundai SD card was 16GB. Install went fine overall.
Sadly, even though they claimed that the voice recognition was improved, after trying multiple times to get her to find various well known food places all within a few miles of me, and even as I could literally see the restaurant up ahead of me on my ride to work, the POS voice recognition system kept saying "sorry, I don't understand you" over and over even though I saw on the screen the name of the restaurant I was asking to find. Super frustrating and that's why I still rely solely on Android Auto.
The update for our cars used to be $170 as well... The practically "free" price is a recent development. To be honest, I haven't tried the voice recog since I updated.Just ordered my "FREE" copy of 14.5. You guts don't know how good we have it. Chevy wanted $170 for each update for my SS. That was map software upgrade only. They did not upgrade the general software at all.
I think the voice recognition is fantastic in my 2020 G80. It gets 90% plus correct. that restaurants, names in my phone book, Dr's offices...ect. I am quite pleased with it.
Glad to see them fix this. They should have allowed user to configure it if this is the case. Similar to brightness for day and night. They reduced the sensitivity range for mode switching, it was previously Nightmode = .2 | Day = .8 from the dash sensor, in the update this range was altered to .4-.7 which has made it a little more temperamental for switching (but it switches faster now, dwell time has been halved). I guess the side effect is if the dash sensor is aging or discolored, your map may stay in night mode all the time.
You got ripped off? More likely you ripped yourself off since they said it was going to be available for download later.feels like i got ripped off paying $25 for a sd card when it can now be downloaded for free. oh well price of adopting early.
If you had to pay the $170 or so right before they lowered the price, you'd REALLY feel ripped off!feels like i got ripped off paying $25 for a sd card when it can now be downloaded for free. oh well price of adopting early.
But it comes in a nice packagefeels like i got ripped off paying $25 for a sd card when it can now be downloaded for free. oh well price of adopting early.
No doubt. The box prob costs $5 to print & assemble...But it comes in a nice package
I'm surprised the download is free. People do have to program. In both cases there is office rent, utilities, server operations, healthcare and a bunch of other costs we don't see directly. No doubt. The box prob costs $5 to print & assemble...
Prob some data mining, machine learning or some such going on... I'm sure that they're getting something out of it.I'm surprised the download is free. People do have to program.
