  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

Happy to see today that the 14.5 map is free to download now for my 2015 no jog wheel.

Just downloaded & installed today's Aug 25th MapnSoft update to solve Nightime view staying on & It appears to work fine now & solved this minor annoyance. This technology amazes me.

Downloaded the latest today at work. The headunit worked without running the update. The map version changed but not the software version. I manually ran the update and it was still the same. I think this was just a map update?

Yes, just a poi and map update. The readme file only shows software updates for v14.0. This is 14.5.

Had to buy a new SD card since my Hyundai SD card was 16GB. Install went fine overall.

Sadly, even though they claimed that the voice recognition was improved, after trying multiple times to get her to find various well known food places all within a few miles of me, and even as I could literally see the restaurant up ahead of me on my ride to work, the POS voice recognition system kept saying "sorry, I don't understand you" over and over even though I saw on the screen the name of the restaurant I was asking to find. Super frustrating and that's why I still rely solely on Android Auto.

Like I said in a previous post.... It's like you're riding with "Idiot Cousin"!

I know the secret for the VR, you have to speak Jamaican Patios, It understand me. I should start a Genesis Jamaican Patios class.

Just ordered my "FREE" copy of 14.5. You guts don't know how good we have it. Chevy wanted $170 for each update for my SS. That was map software upgrade only. They did not upgrade the general software at all.
I think the voice recognition is fantastic in my 2020 G80. It gets 90% plus correct. that restaurants, names in my phone book, Dr's offices...ect. I am quite pleased with it.

The update for our cars used to be $170 as well... The practically "free" price is a recent development. To be honest, I haven't tried the voice recog since I updated.

They reduced the sensitivity range for mode switching, it was previously Nightmode = .2 | Day = .8 from the dash sensor, in the update this range was altered to .4-.7 which has made it a little more temperamental for switching (but it switches faster now, dwell time has been halved). I guess the side effect is if the dash sensor is aging or discolored, your map may stay in night mode all the time.
Glad to see them fix this. They should have allowed user to configure it if this is the case. Similar to brightness for day and night.
v14 has many missing map points and incorrect ones. Same for speed limits. Some were not acceptable at all as I am in big metroplex and it was showing makeshift exit due to construction from a year ago on the major highway. Also GPS would be off by few houses every now and then. I personally think that it was pushed out at the cost of SD card to do crowd beta testing after they changed backend. Crowd sourcing and data mining is okay in lieu of meaningful updates for old platforms. However, there needs to be better input interface to report problems. Maybe within the navigation interface itself.

Hopefully in 14.5 I can find USPS without being specific to the level of typing post office.

Still waiting to see more than 12 radio station placeholders and ability to swipe to next HD station within a radio band.
I wouldn't mind paying little extra for data collections and exports for inputs like OBD.

Just did the install, all went smoothly. My first impression: Holy Wow, the stereo is waaaaaaaaaay louder.

feels like i got ripped off paying $25 for a sd card when it can now be downloaded for free. oh well price of adopting early.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Just use the overpriced SD card for the next update... lol... I had to buy one anyways, the version 10 I had came on a 16gb which isn't big enough for the new versions.

You got ripped off? More likely you ripped yourself off since they said it was going to be available for download later.

If you had to pay the $170 or so right before they lowered the price, you'd REALLY feel ripped off!

But it comes in a nice package

No doubt. The box prob costs $5 to print & assemble...
I'm surprised the download is free. People do have to program. In both cases there is office rent, utilities, server operations, healthcare and a bunch of other costs we don't see directly.

Prob some data mining, machine learning or some such going on... I'm sure that they're getting something out of it.
