  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Reviews

GREAT video. Thanks. I was throughly entertained!!!! Way to go!!! Ha ha ha ha.

I actually like the white on black. I really want the white with blue/dune though (if I go this route). Hmmm... I need to call the local dealer to see if they are getting any and which ones first.

In my opinion the 0 to 60 speed means very little in everyday driving (given decent times between 5 and 7 seconds), what matters more is the acceleration rate at passing speeds. When you step on it to pass a vehicle on a two lane road you need it to respond. Short of having some type of transmission or turbo issues which no one has reported, the GV80 should do very well when called upon to pass.
I find myself scratching my head wondering why anyone would purchase a shoe box on wheels (that is what SUVs are) based on its 0-60 times. I have not ever seen a gathering of these things going from red light to red light stomping on the gas at maximum acceleration all day. That is just not the purpose of these things. Instead they are for utility purposes, the ability to haul more stuff than a car. Besides, most SUV drivers can be found hogging up the left lane on highways at 5MPH above the limit, or stomping on the brakes a mile before the next curve, or getting honked at red lights for sending text messages when the light goes green.

Conversely, I don't see anyone choosing a Mustang GT or Camaro SS for its cavernous trunk or ability to haul a family of 4 to Gramdma's house in total comfort for the holidays. I do however agree with Turtleboy that passing efficiently is worth consideration because it can mean life or death under the wrong circumstances.

But even if acceleration to 60 made sense as a consideration for an SUV, the choices would be an AMG, Motorsports, or SRT/Hellcat product, not an overpriced Hyundai overwrought with goofy styling and gimmicks. No wonder Hyundai wants these cars, they can charge more money by labeling them under a make-believe premium brand. What is a premium brand anyway? Just a lot of marketing so people can blow smoke up their own shoot thinking they are better than others, but the hype works well.

Walk into a Hyundai dealer and check out a loaded Palisade at around 49K and you will find it to be well appointed, good looking, roomy, and devoid of overwrought styling in the new GV80.

Yes, I am a car guy too. But each vehicle type has a purpose and 0-60 is not the purpose of an SUV (Shoebox on wheels).

Did you just call Genesis a make-believe luxury brand? And “overpriced Hyundais?” My friend, I think you may be on the wrong website with outdated opinions like that. New Genesis vehicles ride on brand-exclusive platforms and share almost nothing with Hyundai-branded products.

Wow, what a post. Lol That's only HIS opinion. So anything that is of better material and performance isn't worth it? Right troll

hea clueless by his post. Didn’t even bother with reply. Hell, I’m still seriously looking at Q8 Pestige and a CPO Porsche Cayenne. Guess I’m a snob since I love driving and need a ‘shoebox’ due to my handicap device to get around easier.

ignorance may be bliss lol.

Don't worry, AMG has that covered just for you:

Meh. More "reviews" where the cars can't be driven yet. Not blaming the messenger mind you.

I decided to cancel my order, just way too big of a vehicle for my likes. Wife thought it looked hideous so that did definitely not help. Ended up ordering a Tesla Model Y for less money which should be delivered Sept 11th.

Hmmm, electric, would never have thought but yep my time has come. Have 2 free rapid chargers at work to plug into also so thats a nice bonus.

Congrats. I test drive the Cayenne and Macan tomorrow. Need to keep options open.

It says a lot that you were considering returning to the brand after getting rid of your Genesis sedan a while back. I still thank you for the idea of putting the V8 on the side of the car (something I duplicated with mine before I sold it).

Right on, where are the similarities between a Genesis and a Hyundai product (besides the fact both get you from point A to point B)? There are none these days. These two different car companies totally attract two different buyers. If the products were similar nobody would be spending all the extra money to purchase a Genesis product.

Loving my new Audi Q8 with massage seats. I pray that Genesis decides to put them in soon. Even the new Jag F Pace will offer them when it debuts in Jan. Corona did no favors to Genesis, but I do feel that in order to be a true high end company, which is what they are trying to do, they must fix the dealership situation and also realize that there are some details they are missing out on.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I suggest you take a look at relative vehicle reliability.

I wonder why they didn't work on the power and handling etc... I didn't like the drive at all and thought maybe it was just the Korean tuning that sucked. I guess it didn't change enough. I am happy I got the Q8 as the handling and driving is incredible.

I just can't figure out the market they are trying to play in. You have to have a good handling car adn a comfortable one that has plenty of power in order to be successful. This is too bad IF true, but MT isn't a fly by night.

I'm fine thanks. We have zero clue how reliable the GV80 WILL be. I hope that it is. I'm pulling for the brand, but they have a long ways to go still. I have had zero issue wiht any of our Audi's. My wife hasn't had one problem in well over 15 years of her ownership and this is my second one. First was Q7 wiht again, zero issues. I also have a long warranty .
