  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I absolutely hate the humidifier system. It kicks on intermittently, essentially running the air conditioner when I don't want it on. Furthermore, it leaves moisture on the inside of the rear window, which dries to spots and that window is incredibly hard to clean thoroughly.
Turn it off. Press and hold front defrost.

I've only had my car for about 3 weeks, but so far my minor annoyances would have to be the size of the gas tank. It seems like I am always having to fill up lately and have only been getting around 305-310 miles before empty. Most vehicles I had in the past easily went 400+ miles per tank.

Other thing is the proximity sensor that automatically opens my rear trunk if I approach and stay too long by the rear of the vehicle. (happens while washing my car) I am probably certain there is a way to disable this feature. Other thing would be the fairly shallow depth of the trunk.

Those are just nitpicking to be honest, because otherwise I think it is a great car especially with that 3.3T engine!

Gas tank is smallish considering the fuel consumption of the 3.3T but I guess there is only so much room for everything.. I turned off the Trunk sensor too... Nifty idea but in practice it's annoying.

I'm pretty sure that it's in the settings, one can disable the auto trunk opening functions. Other points are accurate IMO.

Yes it should be in the settings but by far the easiest way at least for my model is to just not lock it when you are washing your car. My auto open only operates when the car is locked.

If someone came up with a 4-5 gallon add-on fuel tank for the G70, it would sure be popular.

Really? I can't see that. The G70 is a sports sedan, weight is the enemy. Fuel is heavy.

Well, I guess you could put in the 13-14 gallons if you want performance, or the 18-19 gallons when on a road trip.

A gallon is only about 6 lbs, adding 24-30 pounds for the convenience of range seems minimal. Plus it's a diminishing issue. Ignoring the add-on tank which could be 15-20 pounds.

Fair points! I think there is just no room to add any size to the tank..

Saddles? :giggle:

For me again it’s the lack of a grab handle on the drivers side door! It’s minor, but I’ve seen it on lessor Kia Stingers without the 3.3t engine, previous models of the 2012 Genesis 5.0 R Spec and other small sports cars. Other minor dislikes are addressed through the various dislikes by the members in this forum.

I agree with the lack of drivers side grab handle I mentioned that in my review also. The Kia Stinger which is bigger has the the same
size gas tank . I don't understand the gas tank size production decision !

A beer keg on the trunk? It would have to have beer in it then with the tap inside the vehicle. Not sure I could trade beer for gas?

Engine start/stop button location.
I wish its location was out of plain sight or behind the right side of the steering wheel.
Seriously more than once I accidentally hit it to shut down the engine at the traffic light stops. Which I really meant to shut off the Music/Volume power button.

Exactly. I only put 1/2 a tank in a time, unless I'm highway driving, because I don't want that extra 50bs. A gallon of gas weighs 6.3 lbs, in case you were interested.

My car came with a cargo net. Was it an option? Dealer accessory? There was no charge on the sticker for it.
Access to console is indeed awkward for driver. Plus dark. I installed a small battery light.
Trunk size and tank size are a minor issue for me considering my driving profile. Same for rear seat room.

Welcome to the forum and join the fray!
hey - how does your cargo net attach? I only see two hooks - I have my old cargo net from my G37 in there, but there is no height to it - there is only a hook on the left, and a hook on right - is there something special about the G70 net?

What penalty do you think that declining 50 pounds costs over time? Are you more concerned over cost of fuel mileage or performance?

I have never used it. I have a bungee cord between the tie down hooks in the trunk near the rear seat. This holds my car supplies (Plug in inflator, small tool kit, rag, pressure gauge, OBD reader) at the front of the trunk and no sliding around.

in the context of his reply; its about performance. I do the same, as minor/statistically insignificant it might be
