  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

hey - how does your cargo net attach? I only see two hooks - I have my old cargo net from my G37 in there, but there is no height to it - there is only a hook on the left, and a hook on right - is there something special about the G70 net?
If you pop your head further into the trunk and look towards the lip (back at you - almost like you're checking your own junk out) you should see 2 more hooks..

hey, thanks!

Sorry for going through all 72 posts and not finding this experience, but has anyone experienced how long the hood stays warm (for hours) after driving the car for 25 miles or less?

Has anyone found a third party that makes front wheel mud guards? I will be getting the OEM back wheel mud guards installed tomorrow.

Like you, I live in a warm climate. In 25 miles you have hated up hundreds of pounds of steel, aluminum, antifreeze. Don't forget the transmission and other running gear, even brake rotors. Once you stop, the heat has to go somewhere and the hood is one of those places. In my case, I put the car in a garage and the entire garage heats up from it, though less if I keep the door open a bit.

Not sure where maximum temperature occurs but far less than 25 miles. If you went 250 miles there would be little difference. You have a big hunk of thermal mass.

I own 2020 2.0T Prestige and the interior wind noise is crazy. Am I the only person with wind noise? It is so obvious even with audio on. Anyone?

I have no wind noise...

It's really not all of that, it's just the engine. IMO. Those two turbos get really hot, period. The heat exchange / intercooler is probably a little bit too small, not sure why, probably production budget. My G37 stayed hot for along time we well, but not as long as these twin turbos. The hood will stay hot for hours, even in winter temps. Just the way it is. I betting that the 3.5 in the GV70 stays cooler.

I have no wind noise...
Yeah, my wind noise is fine until 85 or so. Perception? Are you used to much quieter cars? Actual problem? Maybe seals are not fitting well, or rearview mirrors at an angle or something? Maybe some leading edge trim is off or sticking up or something? There's not much to go wrong, to make the wind noise more that wouldn't be visibly obvious.

The wind noise starts about 50 miles. I check all trims/seals at the doors and body parts, all looks fine. Wind noise is so obvious in my car.
Your front window could maybe have a sealing issue? At this point, I'd take it to the dealer, and let the service person ride and listen, if it's obvious and abnormal, then they should hear it, and take it in as a warranty issue?

I will take it to the dealership and will post the outcome here. I love my G70, it is a fantastic vehicle.

I read on here somewhere that the motors that roll the windows up are sometimes not adjusted properly and put too much pressure on the rubber seal, and deform it. This causes air gaps and wind noise.

Try putting a piece of paper between the glass and window frame, and roll up the window. The paper should be tight. Move the paper around and see if the gap (or pressure on the paper) varies. Compare it with the passenger window.

Also check that the door seal is installed/seated properly. I just remembered that after driving my car home from the dealer for the first time, I noticed that the driver's side door seal wasn't properly seated. It was easy to fix, but immediately had me questioning the quality control of my new G70. I don't really have any wind noise to speak of.

yup - I thought the same thing. drove me crazy. After my Very quiet G80, I spent 3 months sealing off EVERYTHING one-by-one to do road tests. the glass and door seals are less robust on the 70, BTW. Nothing helped (hood/mirrors/windshield/etc.)...then I ran across an obscure post on a Volvo forum discussing this annoying "whistling" sound coming from their Michelin Primacy tires. And yes, that's the issue!!!. So depending upon the road surface and temperature and speed, it will come and go with maddening regularity on Michigan roads, although it is less pronounced in other states I traveled like Illinois and Indiana. Go figure!

Wow, that's weird. I have those tires and haven't got a noise issue. I wonder what's different? I've only got 15k miles on mine. I know most tires start to get louder once the tread gets low. How many miles on yours? Tire pressure?

There is stretch of road that I go on occasion and immediately notice the tires are way louder. Must be the type of concrete mix or texture...

With only 10k miles or so I was noticing some wrinkles/creases in the side bolster of the driver's seat. I'm not particularly large or anything and am usually careful to not slide in and out. Otherwise the car held up great and was super comfortable.
