  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

So how does that time compare to other cars in the class? He mentioned the Stinger but not the time for the Stinger. M340i? C43 AMG?

I wonder what time the sport would get. Randy mentions adaptive dampers but I think he was confused. Those rims are the advanced/elite/prestige rwd ones

^ watch the video. he is driving a Sport in the actual video. the still pic there is not the car he drove - kinda misleading for sure. he might even be in a Dynamic Sport model, but i don't know that for sure. regardless, the Sport gets the adaptive dampers...

You’re totally right, I just caught a glimpse of the black rims on rewatch

What gave it away for me that he was driving the sport was when he mentioned the sensitivity in the gas pedal. There's only one mode where the gas pedal is super sensitive, and that's sport mode.

Given that he liked the brakes, he was probably driving a Dynamic edition, since it has the better pads.

All the other models adjust the pedal sensitivity too, so that wouldn’t have been a giveaway. The only difference the sport has is adjustable shocks. Which should have been my giveaway instead I focused on the rims :/

New F/L G70 overview in English

[edit] didn't see this on the 2021 G70 thread before posting. It looks pretty good under this lighting.

That blue is gorgeous.

I knew the refresh would look great. Wow. Such a nice update.

read C&D's review of the new TLX recently. the 2.0T trim comes in over 4000lbs! they listed 4026lbs to be precise. yikes, she's a porker. especially coming from Honda who is known for typically saving weight to improve performance and economy. even with the battery relocated to the trunk, the weight balance is ~57/43.

for reference, the 2021 BMW 530e weighs less (4013 lbs) than the 2021 TLX 2.0T. they are the same length but the TLX has less passenger and cargo room, and it also has a 4" shorter wheelbase. so clearly Acura enlarged the body to a +1 size over the target 3 series, A4's, C-class, IS, etc

that is also +600lbs over the Accord 2.0T (which is quicker and faster than the much more expensive TLX), and well above most category competitors. just imagine what the Type S will weight with the V6, larger wheels and brakes, and extra aero, etc. this will also further hurt the weight balance front/rear. it could hit ~60/40 since the lighter 2.0T is not far off as is.

^ you know you’re in the G70 review thread...right? LOL

^ yeah, didn't see another obvious spot to post it without creating a new thread - which the TLX doesn't deserve for now. sort of a review-of-a-g70-competitor post. more or less

Kinda scary that I know this site so well that I remembered those 2 buried threads...ha.

Seeing them side by side actually makes me appreciate both. I slightly prefer the headlights of v1 but like the grill of v2 more. The backend of v1 looks more muscular, while v2 backend more luxury. I'm still a fan of the boomerang too but the v2 vent looks decent.

The v2 infotainment is nicer... Though I can go either way with the dash gauges.

Overall, anyone should be happy with either!

Nice video. Although I've been critical of some aspects of the facelift, I have to say that seeing them side by side in this video, I much prefer the nose of the new design. It seems more "integrated", smoother and cleaner.
I like the rear from the bumper up, but I don't care for the changes below the bumper, especially the somewhat ridiculously over sized exhaust outlets.
It's interesting that Genesis opted to ditch their wing logo on the trunk lid on favor of the Genesis name spelled out in larger letters. Obviously trying to establish the brand name better (and eliminate any confusion with the horrid Chrysler Sebring/200, which has a similarly shaped rear with a winged logo as well).
Having a sport plus mode would be handy, less buttons to push to disable the nannies. I'm cool with the infotainment changes. Wish they had improved the seat cushion design for those of us that find it really uncomfortable after less than an hour, but I think the seats are unchanged.

Wanting black seats on the Sport...and being forced into red stitching and those hideous red seat belts is a deal breaker for me.

If they do the same on the GV70 Sport...I’m leaving the brand.

I pray they aren’t that f’ing stupid. But from the SK website...seems like they indeed are.
