  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Bugs & Other Issues

Great question. No, and when I bought the car I figured that offer was riddled with exceptions and subject to local dealer whims. They will only get it for regularly scheduled maintenance and even then only within a certain mile radius. Don't buy the car thinking the valet thing is a reliably offered service.

Once it popped up on mine, it stayed and has been there every time I start car.
Go in to reset the service interval. Click the message next time it pops up. It will bring you to the service interval page. Scroll down to where the reset service interval is and just remember to bring the car in at around 10,000 on your odometer. This happened once I connected the app. Likely like you did once you got the car and it took about a week to start firing this service interval message. Fixed it for me and I have not seen it since. Dealership did nothing, had to figure it out on my own.

I also had this pop up once right after starting it yesterday. I only have about 300 miles on mine. I cleared the screen and will be watching if it pops up again. Interesting that it has happened to someone else.
See reply above^ This should fix this message. Error in the software once you connect the Genesis app.

I live WAY outside the valet/concierge radius....Before I bought mine, I wrote to Genesis corporate to help see what I could work out with the nearest dealer- almost 3 hours away....We ended up compromising on each of us meeting half way- which fell just under the maximum mileage allowance....If they hadn't been gracious about doing it- I'd still be driving my VW Atlas....I thought about some others like the Volvo Or Jag F Pace...I came very close to getting a Stelvio(pretty noisy inside)-all dealers that were 20-30 mins away.....But I was ruined by seeing the GV80 concept in 2017 and was waiting ever since For me its been a total blast....

Yes, this did fix the issue. I did call to see what may have triggered the issue. They were not sure although it has happened to a few of their clients.

I believe you are right that it is to do with the Connected App. Thanks.

Patient man. I gave up waiting years for a Genesis SUV and bought a ‘19 Santa Fe. Great ride! As a matter of fact, I just upgraded my Santa Fe to an “N” model. Cost me $13 at Amazon. 😂

Lmao. At least the badge only costs $16 so no one will come rip it off the car. My GF has a Volkswagen golf GTI and it seems the badge is always missing lol. She gave up on replacement. People are dicks.

Haha, agreed, I don’t think my $13 N badge will create much of a stir in the criminal world, but it may cause a few second looks out on the highway. I was going to put a 3.5 turbo badge on it too, but haven’t found the right one yet. Good fun.

Seriously? If my dealer had another GV80 I'd go and check it out but they don't.

Does anyone else out there in GV80 land with a vehicle hear the loud radiator fan noise when standing in front of the car or am I losing it?
I hear that loud fan noise too, all the time when outside the car. I live in Las Vegas, but it's winter here, not about 70 degrees yet so wonder what it will sound like when it's 117. I was surprised at how loud that fan is, sounds like an old 80's VW Golf when they just put in electric fans. For such a well designed car, that seems like a real miss. Otherwise I like the car overall. I miss the transmission from my Audi SQ5, that thing was like butter and the Genesis is very clunky in comparison.

I wonder is it the A/C you are hearing? I was stopped somewhere with the windows open and switched the climate control off with the engine still running. I noticed what sounded like a fan stop outside at the same time. A/C compressor maybe ?

Fan behind the radiator is pretty loud. The a/c condenser is right below the oil cooler in front of the radiator. Fan kicks on when the a/c is running.

has anyone noted small dents on their hood? i've had my GV80 since Jan 3 and my detailer noted numerous small dents in the hood, very small for me to notice without them pointing them out. seems like the hood is very soft, am i the only one who's noted this?

I believe I saw another post about dents in the vehicle, but don't remember where on this forum.

That’s why I have the front of my cars Xpel wrapped when new because no matter how careful you are these things can’t be avoided. At some point, you will be stuck driving behind trucks and no other finish strategy works.

I have one 1/2" long deep scratch (to the paint through the clear coat) from a rock hitting the hood while driving, which also put a chip in my windshield. I don't have any dents but the darn scratch is right in the center of my hood so I see it every time I look at the car. I'm trying to get a touch up paint pen from the dealer but they say they don't have one yet for the GV80 and aren't sure if the paint color is exactly the same as the G90 so don't want to sell me that one in case it doesn't match.

I just have issues piling up. I feel like people should stay away from this vehicle for this model year till they work out the kinks.

2.5T model, while highway driving the vehicle started to have vibrations throughout the entire cabin effecting the ears as well(doors and windows shut tight). Anyone else have this issue?

The wind was not very strong today either. It's been a lot stronger and did not have this issue. Stopped and headed out on the highway again with no improvement however the vibrations are there and then they disappear then come back. Think like looking at your passenger s seat and it is shaking like a vibrator lol. It feels very unsafe to drive.

Vibration issues aren't specific to the GV80. A handful of members on this forum have had some issues with the G80 and G90, which are older Genesis models as well. The culprit is usually faulty tire balancing, so get that checked at your local dealership.

Ya, taking it to the dealer this week. Just curious for a new car fresh out of the dealer to experience bad balancing. I hope it is just this, fingers crossed.

The number of bugs/problems being reported, in part, caused me to go with a Lincoln Aviator. There are bugs with the Aviator, but so far they appear largely minor.

On the contrary, it is the reported number of bug and problems in the Aviator forum keep me hesitate to buy the Aviator and toward the GV80.
