Just brought my 2021 G70 3.3T to dealer for first complimentary service (~7200 miles). Some bright spots, some not so much:
The good:
1) Service only took about an hour and a half, including complimentary hand wash. oil change, multi point check, rotated tires.
2) From check in to check out I was happy with the customer service, very professional.
The meh:
1) service valet or whatever you want to call it is broken. I used the dealers website, nothing was available for months, come to think of it I stopped looking into February 2022
2) tried to schedule with the chat feature on dealer website, said they’d reach me by phone or email to confirm. Nothing for 5 days.
3) Ended up calling the dealer and thankfully they had a cancellation so I got in the next day. Otherwise they said it was typically a 3-4 week wait for appointment.
4) Dealer does not offer and didn’t have a loaner for drop off appointment. Said due to low amount of vehicles available, but I call BS. There’s a ton of new GV80s, G70s, G80s. I was really surprised how full their lot was.
So I’m not overly disappointed, but not what I was expecting. My wife drives a BMW and I get a new 330i anytime I get an oil change as a loaner.
Another item to note was the service advisor stated I should get my oil changed every 3000 miles. When I set up my car on the my genesis site, I’m pretty sure it stated 7500 miles for my driving conditions. But my car started beeping at 6000 miles, so who knows. He also stated I can get as many 3000 mile oil changes possible in the first 3 years/36k miles, so why not. Thought I recalled some threads in here where that was not the case, so any insights would be great.
Absolutely love the car, no issues to report. Like I told the service guy, only thing it’s missing is a sportier exhaust note. Still lurking and researching JB4…
