If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your new Genesis GV70?

^ Doesn't help that HMG want to ramp up Ioniq 5 and EV6 sales and those 2 models require more chips.

I'm paying MSRP for a GV70 Sport Prestige from Genesis of Atlanta. There are a few hundred dollars of dealer add-ons, but no major jump. Previously, I've gotten prices $5k to $20k over MSRP.

My question is what is a reasonable price for the Genesis extended warranty for 10 years, 100k miles? The dealer quoted $3789 which seems very high.

I bought a G70 in So Cal, and they quoted the warranty for 6k, got it down to $3500 before they stopped bargaining. I didn't take it because I thought it ridiculous to spend that much money when it had limitations to it anyway. I will save money for possible repairs or sell the car. Either way, that sounds similar to what I was seeing in my region.

I happen to look at the dealer website I bought mine from 7 weeks ago, they had 5 gv70 all 3.5. One sport prestige, one sport and all with market adjustment $5998…still being piggy.

Then I saw they had one gv80 $75k msrp that they market adjustment of $10k on that…what do they say? Pigs get fed hogs get slaughtered! I wonder in 18 months if the dealership will feel people getting back at them when like they said in Jurassic Park…”they remember!”

Please share with us prospective buyers what you paid for your GV70. Not so much interested in out the door price because every state is different on taxes, trade ins, etc. More interested in the amount you paid over MSRP, MSRP or under MSRP. Thanks for sharing.
MSRP here and no complaints, got a great deal on my trade in as well.

There seems to less GV70's nationwide at cars.com & this is probably not helpful "

Hyundai Motor expects more chip shortage production disruptions"

I've arranged to buy a GV70 Sport Prestige from Genesis of Atlanta for MSRP. No dealer markup. The price is $64,045 which includes $500 for silver paint which is a premium color from Genesis. They're charging me $900 for ceramic paint coating, leather protection, and window tinting. I'd rather not have that, but I'm not complaining about $900 for this, since they're selling MSRP, and they gave me a very good trade in on my old car. They've been very straightforward and easy to deal with. I highly recommend them.

I purchased 2021 Hyundai Sonata N-line in February of this year for $29,500. After 16,000 miles, I decided to trade it in for a Genesis GV70. This weekend, I picked up my Saville Silver/black interior 3.5tt Sport Prestige for $500 below msrp. The real surprise was; I got $32,000 for my Sonata N-line. I can’t believe I got $2500 more than I paid for New. What a crazy time. Btw, I’m in DMV area (Northern Virginia)

Got the same deal from them in August on my wife's GV70. Finance pressures hard on extended warranty and a few other things. I had to get firm with him on the "no's". Before you buy any accessories, wait for a $100 discount coupon that will come in the mail in a few weeks from them.

There are definitely MSRP dealers around for each manufacturer. You have to just keep calling until you find them, sometimes take a little drive to get to them. I lucked out and had one nearby, but the other two local dealers had markups. My backup option was 1.5 hours away selling at MSRP.

You’ll be lucky to find the spec you’re looking for even at MSRP, so good luck in your search for getting it below.

I already found the spec I'm looking for. the dealer has given me the option to "custom order" at MSRP. aka wait a few months, instead of buying the one they just got in stock for $5k over sticker *smh*. I'm just trying to ascertain if they're playing games or if the demand really is that strong. they seem to have quite a bit of inventory on hand, so you'd think they'd be happy to make a deal.

in any case, someone who's already gone thru the process with a solid dealer in here TX, would be great if you could chime in.

MSRP for Silver 3.5 Prestige with black interior. There is some inventory around my area in DC but the Silver with blue interior I had my eye on was sold the day I was ready for purchase. Really like the Silver, have the matching g70 3.3T Prestige as the fun car. Got the ceramic paint coating / interior for 900 and extended maintenance for 1800.

I also wanted to Silver with Blue interior but just couldn't find one.

Haven’t received mine yet but just got the price on it today from my broker. 3.5Liter Prestige package, Mauna Red exterior with Seville Red interiors extremely rare In the U.S. paying MSRP which is 65,525 I believe. Somewhere around there.

500 above MSRP, only white and red combo in the entire area at the time.

3.5 Prestige, SoFlo
We got a ton of white with red up here in jersey. I got the Red on Red. Only a few in the whole country. Seems most of the models they’ve delivered has been Traditional black interior, or beige. Very few blue or red.

Every couple three weeks I’ll check out my local dealer where I got mine and see how fast they’re turning over inventory. They had between 5-7 on the lot but the owner has them jacked $5998 over msrp. They’re just being piggy. My sales rep said they can’t keep them on the lot, very hot product.

Well they’ve had these six for a while, I watch the stock numbers, so congratulations dealership you’ve done your part on slowing down the sales. I think people as bad as want one are keeping their wits about them and saying pass.

Three days before I bought the GV I had put down a deposit on an order for a Lincoln Nautilus Black Label (very nice product) but was going to have to wait four months for it to arrive. They had a $1k discount on 2022 orders which was washed by the $1k price increase, but the few they had on the lot were at msrp. If they had a Black Label I wanted I would have bought it on the spot like I did on the GV. The GM doing my paperwork and I got into a discussion about the msrp business model vs the “piggy” markup model. His logic why they WERE’NT doing it was he wanted to move product. There are many mouths to feed here (service dept) so let’s recover from the pandemic.

I couldn’t wait four months with my new glitchy BMW 430ix and the miles adding up on this trade so I called the rep I bought my 2020 Palisade Limited from and said what about these GV70’s you’ve got. Bought one in the showroom delivered the day before but I wasn’t going to pay their $5k (then) piggy markup and got them down half of it. Then thought two can play and got more than what I needed to get out of the BMW so it was a net msrp purchase. They didn’t like my offer and tried to get their version but I said you can make a sale right now or wait for the next buyer.

So now those six GV70’s 3.5t sit on the lot with a $6k piggy markup and the sales people try and the mechanics hope. Which business model makes sense? Sell and move product at msrp profits or artificially slow the sales and hope with the piggy $6k markup?

This is a great economics/sociology experiment we’re watching on the balance between supply and demand and Uber piggyness, and reality is somewhere in between.
