If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. What did you pay for your new Genesis GV70?

CarMax was offering $39,000 and CarGurus offered $38,500 for my van. I showed the dealer what CarMax and what CarGurus was offering, the dealer originally wanted to give me $34,500 for it but they ended up giving me $40,000 for it and reading it in for a new car saved me close to $2,500 taxes. So basically my new GV70 was financed for the difference. We also put and additional $8,000 down. So finances not to much. Hope this helps. The MSRP was $54,750 and the dealer markup was $6,000 which made it a total of $60,750 minus what the trade in and money down was. I say with the used car market being so hot now everyone should see what CarMax, CarGurus, and Carvana will give them for a used car and see if the dealer will match it.
So they gave you $1000 over CarMax and saved you $2500 in taxes, then charged you $6000 over MSRP?

Good point. The GV70 I'm looking for is:

- 2.5
- Advanced Trim
- Brunswick Green exterior. (Adriatic Blue is 2nd choice) (White is 3rd)
- Havana Brown interior.
Here’s a blue/brown outside a Indianapolis. No idea if inventory is accurate.

In all honesty I knew if I sold it to CarMax they would knit pick to lower what their online quote quoted me if I actually took it to a CarMax to sell it. The quotes were online quotes. I only owed $17,000 on my van and I bought it one year ago for $32,000. So it is a win win. They paid me to drive my car for a year and put 15,000 miles on it.

I found just the opposite at CarMax. A 10 minute inspection and we were out with a check. Easiest automotive transaction I’ve ever had.

Nice! We were happy with what we got and got the discount on the taxes.

IMO, actual delivered sales of the GV70's are slowing significantly, at least near me in Milwaukee, WI.

Our local dealer (Genesis Dealership Waukesha, WI) is adding $5,998 to every GV70, and has the same 4 vehicles in stock now for almost a month. Three 2.5T and one 3.5T. I drive past their Hyundai/Genesis lot about once a week, and have stopped each time to cruise/drive through and see what's available, and all the same four GV70's remain in stock. I've also checked all the dealers within 100 miles (including the Chicago market) and their simply are virtually no GV70's available at any price.

New arrivals are all GV80's in the last 2-3 weeks. Two 2.5T GV80 with the same $5,998 additional Market Value, and three 3.5T's GV80 with $9,998 additional Market Value.

Makes me think the factory is literally building in batches by model, GV70's for a couple of weeks, and then GV80's for a couple of weeks.

If their objective is to slow deliveries in order to hold maintain pricing at MSRP (or better) it's working.

I used True Car . I saved about $2000 under list . I have purchased several cars from out of town dealers . If the savings is enough it’s worth having shipped . i flew to pick mine up and drove it home .

The best I could get from a nearby dealer was MSRP I asked them to discount $1000 and I would buy it from them considering the cost and time to travel .

The dealer I purchased from had the GV70 I wanted coming in 2.5 Adriatic Blue with Red Interior ) One dealer offered to order at MSRP . They said it would be 6-8 weeks.

I figured just get the GV70 that is available . To be honest there are not a lot of new or enough used vehicles out there , I took my MX5 in for an oil change the other day . There were NO cars in the showroom. That is why I could get over $4000 more for a two year old car than I paid for it.

I am sure there are dealers that will sell at MSRP You just may have to look at dealers not near you . If only there was a way to search for cars all over the country ;)

They are definitely building in batches. My dealer was supposed to get 7 near identical 2.5 Selects (all white, 6 with beige and 1 with black interior) followed by 4 identical silver 2.5 Selects. They were all pre-sold at MSRP.

I really wish my dealer would sell to me at MSRP. I'd do the deal immediately. They want $5,000 over sticker.

A friend was so impressed with my GV70 that he went to our local dealer. 6 to 8 month wait time on the trim he desires. When they look to acquire a vehicle that’s “close enough“ it’s for over MSRP.

I guess I just got lucky back in early October. Took a spin to the dealership over my lunch break and the silver 3.5 TT was on display out front. Went for a test drive and struck a deal right then and there for sticker.

Every time the GV70 receives a new commendation/category award, seems the demand and price ticks up just a little higher.

I would consider buying from other states and looking around. I got 64K OTD in South Florida

$1500 over MSRP (although the dealer allegedly ceramic coats their vehicles). They tried to lowball me on my trade but ended up matching my offer from CarMax. Then they tried to force me to buy some bullshit warranty and when I told them I didn’t want it they tried to tell me they may have to “adjust” the price of the car. I had ordered one at MSRP at another dealer but was told it could take up to 9 months to arrive. Other dealers in the area are charging $5000 over MSRP. I felt my car buying experience was NOT what a luxury car buying experience should be. Genesis makes great cars but their dealers suck.

Which dealer? I was charged $1500 for ceramic coating as well.

Unfortunately many car dealers are adding mark up on most every brand and model . Until supply chains are worked out it will be that way. There just are not enough new cars available . Now if you want to judge dealers by other criteria OK .

Look on line at cars.com and filter within all miles . You might find a dealer with the GV70 you want at list. You may have to ship or pick it up like I did but if you end up saving thousands it’s worth it. There are other sites as well .

nice, can you recommend this dealer who gave you $2k off MSRP? did you have to negotiate that down, if so, how did you manage that?

I first used True car . They came up with a few dealers. The one dealer showed $2000 off list. When I contacted them telling them what I was looking for , I was told they had one coming in . They wanted list but I told the dealer about the True Car price. I had taken a screen shot of the offer. Shared that with them and they agreed to the price . They did have some fees I was not delighted about but still saved money . Not sure if the window of that deal has closed. I got mine from Brahman Genesis in Miami .Looks like they have a good selection on their website.

Frankly if I could not have received more for my Subaru than I paid for and been able to purchase the GV70 for no more than MSRP, I might not have purchased. The Subaru was a really nice vehicle . That said the GV70 is much nicer but it should be . It cost a lot more.

thanks, braman miami is currently doing MSRP for those interested. I'll see if I cant nudge them to go below MSRP, that sort of discount you got would def make up for shipping etc! hope they didnt add a bunch of BS addons or crazy dealer/doc fees etc to "hide" the true price like some other so called MSRP dealers are doing.
