  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

can only be seen
I had no idea and I was wondering why I could see a reflection of the rear light on my back window when looking through the mirror.

Had the starter replaced yesterday 2015 AWD 3.8 150000km 1200CND starter was 350 the rest was Labour coolant gaskets 6 hours for the dealership

My crack is only visible on the outside surface when looking into the car and is very thin, however I assume that it will get larger and then the rubber will just fall apart. I only noticed because I checked after reading about other owners issue with the brake light rubber. Now I have to plan for replacing or repair the rubber.

I may just apply some black tape or clear 3M tape on the rubber before the crack gets larger to hold it together.

Today I received and installed some black rear seat headrest to match my black front seat head rest covers. I bought black headrests because I give up trying to find a used set of ivory colored ones to replace a damage front one I have. Ivory is very hard to color match or find online, but black headrests are easy to find and are cheap. Therefore I will use black headrest to replace my front ivory headrest as well.

The black and ivory colored seat look does seem to mesh well due to the overall color scheme of my interior, plus the ivory seats have black piping as well.

Hyundai wants about $300 for one new front seat ivory headrest. I was able to buy the complete black rear set used in new condition for about $80 on eBay.

I did some interior upgrades. Seat covers, aluminum scratch protectors. And a decepticon badge on the trunk lid.

Last night I had some fun against a 2015+ Dodge Charge R/T with my 5.0 Genesis.

We went head to head at two lights on a empty road to about 65 mph back to back. The Dodge driver was a speed demon for sure. At the first light the driver was rolling at the light just before it turned green to get a good jump while revving the motor.

I assume that the driver was just having fun with the car since it did have a custom exhaust which made the Hemi V8 sound great and some nice aftermarket sport wheels. It was a cool looking Charger for sure. However, I decided to see how my car fair against it and I left the Dodge in the dust by a full bumper in ECO mode. The second light we came to changed to red; so we went head to head again. Again the Charger was revving up the motor waiting until the light turned green and my car still left him in the dust in ECO mode until I slowed down at 60 mph.:)

I admit that I did have my Sprint Booster turned on, but I left the badass looking Charger in the dust twice in a row in ECO mode. To be fair, my car does launches like a bat out of hell just by pressing the gas pedal halfway and holding it with the Sprint Booster even in ECO mode, but beating the Charger V8 like that was a big surprise. The Dodge did make a lot of noise with tire squeal both times, but it still lost badly to my 5.0. It was not the Scat pack model for sure due to how bad I left it to 60mph; just a 5.7 Hemi I believe. The Scat pack is a high 3 to low 4 second 0-60 car, so I am sure it was not that R/T V8 model with the 6.4 engine. However, I could not really tell what the fender badge was on the Charger. It was a newer style Charger V8 model with a R/T bage on the trunk I believe. If it was a Scat pack; then it must have had some issues with off the line traction to lose that badly to my 5.0.

It was just funny that my unassuming Korean sedan dusty a modded out American street rod with a Hemi. I am sure the driver wiil give the Genesis some props on his Charger forum(if a member of one) when he ask the members in his forum about how fast are Genesis 5.0 models since one dusted his Hemi twice in two straight up races on a empty road late at night.:)

On second thought; the Dodge driver probably thought my car was a Audi with my luck.

Where did you get the Carbon fiber Pillars???
they look great..
Thank you.

I purchased a pre-cut vinyl kit off eBay about 3 years ago and they still look good. They are called 3M Di-noc Carbon fiber pillar covers. I used them to cover up my faded and scratched black stock window pillars. The 3M Di-noc also has a carbon fiber texture that you can feel. Pretty cool stuff.

Nice thanks. Yeah, someone scratched my pillar on the drivers side.

Man, the same thing happen to my pillars. They were already a bit faded and then one day I noticed a scratch out of nowhere on my drivers side. I was pissed. The 3M vinyl seem to very durable and scratch resistant so far 3 years later. I only have a small edge on the passenger side that has some wear which is not noticeable unless you look very close at the cover.

My new toys from Korea have arrived ;)

About two months after I got the car (July 2021) I added a lip spoiler. A few weeks ago, I changed the Flying H out for the Genesis Wing. Today, I had some Borla Pro XS mufflers put on. Looking nice and sounding nice!

I'd delete the advertisement for Long, but that's just me.

I will once I pay the car off, haha. They pissed me off at the dealership but I'm making that a celebratory thing.
