  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lexus Forum is close to banning me for talking about the Genesis.......

Well, they just closed the thread!

I especially like the second to last post:

What a tool bag.

Thats some good information.

Guys, am i a tool bag? HA!

Did any of you happen to notice the Chrome Pillar's on the guys GS. Lovely...(being sarcastic):D

On a final note, it is evident that the moderator chose sides and closed the thread out of his own personal experience with a "POS Hyundai." He also specifically mentions "cross-posting" and how it is "not allowed." I fully disagree in that method of moderation. Why withhold information? I can understand it in some ways, but for informational purposes...i dont get it.

There are reasons I seldom post on the Lexus forums...and you have just witnessed why. I'm almost feeling bad for the guys who are true car enthusiast over there.:( Its liken to a cult.

Oh well, we wont have that around here!:D

I thought you'd get a kick out of this thread -- Genesis owners. --- I posted a couple threads on the Lexus Forum about the Genesis. Lots of thin skinned people over there. The Moderator merged the 3 posts into one thread and threatened to close the thread. People just can't take it anymore. I am a Lexus GS350 and ES300 owner. Soon to be a Genesis owner when the 2011s come out.

Enjoy the reading - Lexus Forum - Genesis thread

I'm sorry but maybe you are being thin-skinned by starting a thread on another forum when you are not CLOSE to even being warned or banned? We looked back at your previous recent threads and there is a trend starting with the Genesis. That is fine but there is no need for multiple threads about it when;
-the same person is talking about it
-the same car is being discussed

Thus your thread was merged. This is pretty standard with thread merging.

I can assure you not one moderator discussed banning you or even giving you a warning. So your thread title here is VERY misleading. You might not be aware but we have an increasing issue of combative pro Hyundai members on our forum. They seemingly skip any positive post about Hyundai to only argue and try to rebuke anything they feel is a slight against the brand.

Let me you inform you and others after 20 years so people still are not accepting of Lexus for whatever reason(s). So don't expect everyone to be accepting of Hyundai, no matter how they improve. It is not going to happen.

As some members here read the thread was not just a huge flame fest or Hyundai bashing thread, quite the contrary. However if you chose to focus on the negative posts well you will feel it is a negative thread. I can easily link threads where we have Hyundai fans going completely overboard on our forum. It goes both ways.

PINGGOLF thanks for joining the forum and for your comments. We don't allow cross forum links/threads when the link is to beat up another forum/member/car. It rarely ends well, thus the thread is closed.

I caught hell for saying I liked my Genesis better than my 2006 GS430 back in 2008. Needless to say, I just stopped posting on ClubLexus....way too many Lexus fanboys who think an L emblem makes their car better. That place is pretty funny, as evidenced by the fact that 1SICKLEX aka the Honda/Acura/Nissan/Infiniti troll who's been banned from other forums for his antics is actually a Moderator there.

Wow, maybe I should take my comments back about welcoming you?

Yup they just closed the thread. The moderator claimed that he didn't threaten to ban me. Let's examine the facts.

I make 3 posts about the Genesis. One test driving the V6, One driving the V8. The moderator said that they were the same post and merged them into one.

A couple weeks later I post the reliability rankings of the GS vs. the Genesis. The Moderator claims I am 'Stirring the pot' and merges this post into the other one. Then claims that the 'thread has no point' and threatens to close it. And then finally closes it. I have been on enough forums to know to know that the next step is banning me. In fact I received a PM from another Lexus Forum member who told me he was banned for the exact same reason.

Why merge my threads at all? - Other threads on the forum are mass duplication. More so than my 3 threads on the Genesis.

Actually your memory is hazy. You got a lot of compliments on the Genesis but you chose to ignore those compliments and instead focused on anyone or anything that didn't agree with your assessment of the car.

Considering the growth of our forum and the vast majority of our members are very happy with how the forum is moderated the results speak for themselves. Not everyone is going to like decisions made or moderators. Its like that on every forum.

I sincerely appreciate your continued focus on me. :grouphug::D

I can't believe a moderator with administrator privileges called another brand a POS.
I am also a past owner of a POS Hyundai so its not like I don't have experience with the brand.

Probably a rich kids son who is crying in his daddies shirt pocket for not looking into a Genesis for him. :D I guess it was no different back when the Mercedes crowd used to look at Lexus and laughed at them. Well boys and girls Toyotas days are far from where they used to be. Look at any consumer reports rating mag and you will see Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru and even Hyundai are easily beating out Toyota in reliability and customer satisfaction now a days. Throw in the massive accelerating on it's own and Lexus SUV possible flip over deal and Toyota really needs to do something. I was contemplating a Venza for the wife and personally couldn't care less about the accelerating thing as I have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than that happening to me. What surprised the heck out of me though was all the people I mentioned my possible choice to said "do you think that is a safe idea". You can't ride on brand name forever or they will be eventually be doomed like several of the manufacturers as of late.

Cut-Throat you were never warned, never got an infraction and were not close to being banned.

Your thread was merged, it was not closed. It is closed now as we don't allow cross forum posting and you made the decision to come here and basically LIE about being banned.

You were never warned, never got an infraction and never close to being banned for that thread or any posts in that thread.

I've been meaning to join this forum for awhile just never got around to it. I've done browsing here and it seems like a great place.

Here is my recent mini-review on the Genesis interior. Again I am a huge fan of the car and YOU know that.

Next I stopped by the Audi dealer.....which is small and sandwiched between a Hyundai and Mazda dealer. Didn't feel luxurious at all but like they were an after thought. Car selection was horrid, one Q5, one S4 with 18s and a bunch of A4s parked next to A6s and I honestly were mistaking the two.....

No one came outside to help, no biggie as this particular owned dealership group is horrible and can eat white dog poo. Glad I didn't see but one other person walking around.

I mean there literally are Audi's parked behind Mazdas.....felt like I was at the Suzuki dealer....

Since no one helped I figure let me go to the Hyundai dealer...so I walked over....

This place was buzzing, customers inside and out. I walk past two salesman who said nothing.....so I go inside and there is a 3.8 Genesis coupe with NAV (didn't even know they had it) inside. I was STUNNED at how I fit inside this car, just PERFECT. The seats were great with a cheap bit. The power seat moved front/rear and there is a manual control for the seat back. Cheap....the interior center console looks like the same awful crap in the old G35. What were they thinking? That is when copying goes back, when you copy stuff not realizing NO ONE LIKED IT. Surprisingly the dash had good plastics and honestly it was a great place to sit in.

I then sat in a Genesis 4.6 to stroke the dash. :D Its a damn good dash and I much prefer the simplicity of the Genesis to the tidal wave after wave in the M56. Quite frankly you can swap badges out on the steering wheels and things would be fine. That is how good this interior is. I do hate the perforated trim on the doors though. I also start noticing ANOTHER knob on the console, like the M56, like the M6. Again things kinda blend...Headroom is great front and rear. The rear had the best seat, tons of space for legs and your head. Also when you open the door there is lighted door sills and the start/stop button lights up. You also notice the same start/stop button seemingly in all these cars including mine. More sameness. Small but same.

I walk outside and love the blue color coupe and I just love the Genesis coupe in general. Sadly no one asked me for help so I walked back to my car and left.....

I don't want a few pro Hyundai fans and a few pro Lexus fans spoiling the whole bunch. We have multiple threads in our car chat forum on Hyundai and a huge amount of members giving them praise. Let us not focus on the few that are not impressed for whatever reason(s). As I stated Lexus still has the same issue with a lot of people.

Haha.... this is great!

For everyone's information I passed an '09 460L yesterday on the highway. We both looked at each other as I passed on the right. :grouphug:

Call me conservative, I always pass on the right.:)

PINGGOLF thanks for joining the forum and for your comments. We don't allow cross forum links/threads when the link is to beat up another forum/member/car. It rarely ends well, thus the thread is closed.

Thanks for the welcome...and you are welcome here.:welcome:

However, in rebuttal, I never bashed your forum, a member, or their car.

I did make a comment about some chrome door pillars...to be funny... My thoughts concerning aftermarket products of that nature are...to each his own. If that floats his boat...more power to you.

Please be advised, we certainly have our share of individuals who call it like they see it and it is difficult at times to really grasp their true intent of the post. However, we as "moderators" must read posts very carefully before claiming that someone is abusing the threads or their right to post.

We do our best to keep the place clean around here and I can proudly say that we are doing pretty good.

Again, welcome aboard and we look forward to your informative posts!

Uh Phil/1SickLex...so you closed the thread due to cross forum posting...and you just did it on your last post...smooth.

Ok folks...be nice to PhilCollins80.

I just spoke of our behavior and I would hate to be called a liar.

Phil, you are welcome here and I would ask that you report any post that makes you feel as if you are personally being attacked. I will take it from there.

I also notice that there is some history involved with a few of you. I respectfully request that you handle your differences in Private Messages, rather than for all of us to see.

Thanks for not throwing me to the wolves everyone. :welcome:

Sir when that POS has you at the dealer every weekend for an entire summer, well it doesn't leave a positive impression of the car or brand. True story one time I went in to get ANOTHER A/C compressor and instead of fixing that, they swapped out one of my grey door panels for a beige one.

I was so stunned I just drove it home, grey interior with one door panel in beige.:D:eek:

It was not limited to Hyundai, sadly my family has owned POS Ford's and GM vehicles in the past. They are called that b/c of of how unreliable they were or simply fell apart over time in our ownership experience.

Clearly we both know TODAY Hyundai, Ford, GM have fixed most of their issues especially Ford/Hyundai in regards to quality. However some of us have moved on to other brands and due to past experiences don't really intend on coming back. That is the risk you take selling a shoddy product in the past.

The Hyundai in question!?! A Scoupe Turbo!:D Sadly I loved that little car. The sunroof was not electric, I had to pop it out and put it in the backseat:D

No problem with that and thank for the welcome (moderating is a tough volunteer job). If I cause issues I'm sure JWaters will let us all know:)

Hey, as I stated we don't allow it when the links cause flaming/bash a forum etc. The link I provided is my personal review of the Infiniti M56, BMW M6, Audi S6 as well as some mini-reviews of the Suzuki Kazashi and Genesis sedan/coupe. It is a long read. If I broke a rule with it then please delete it.

I read every post as well and thought they in general showed a lot of acceptance and restraint. There were a couple of "It's a Hyundai" remarks, but honestly we should expect that. After all the first thing most of the forum members here have done is re-badge the rear ;-).

Lexus makes great cars, and they have had the number one car plant in the world for a few years now. They are definitely a target to aim for.

That being said, I get all giddy when I get into my Genesis after a long day's work. I think, "Man, what an amazing, uncommon car at such steal of a price!"

Cut-throat, I do agree that your thread title here does seem a bit inflammatory. But both sites have probably increased their hit counts based on the respective threads, people have a reason to vent (believe it or not I think people actually like getting all worked up over stuff), and well, in the end everyone I suppose is happy :-).
