  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The genny, despite the age (2009) so far drives good & rides great. But I beleive it's good to have a start for some extra in mods.
Not planing long into that route, just a few for little more fun.

- Replaced stock exhaust tips to qual style.
- After some search & reviews with trials, new wider tires 255/45R18 mounted. They didn't look bad on the stock wheels, increased thread width with almost no bulge compared to stock tire size 235/50-18.

- K&N drop-in filter with intake box secondary charcoal filter delete, completed.

I've dynoed the car to have a base figure, came out 247whp (296Bhp) on a Mustang dyno with the K&N drop-in.

- ordered a custom make intake pipe.
- on wait list for variable flow exhaust mufflers.
- and qued for ECU tune afterward.

This has just arrived 😃. I've ordered it custom made with a quality silicone manufacturers.

Should be a direct bolt-on replacement to stock intake pipe between MAF & TB.
Eliminates post-MAF air intake resonators in stock assembly, with a smoother inner wall & a bung for PCV line (requires a connector nipple).

My primary goal was getting a bit more of sound note out of a stock-looking engine bay. I'll test fitting & try it in couple days, and might through it on a dyno to see if there is any readable real gains out of this.

Gotta lower tht bad boy

I thought that would give it a meaner stance.

But I've just left a dropped ride, enjoying less worry at road pumps for a while 😁

Lol I feel ya. The BH's give me a Korean charger vibe with a splash of benz

Old OEM air intake pipe with resonators go OUT.

New Custom Air Intake Hose goes ON.

(ignore the IIN logo .. I had a k&n sticker laying around and played with letters to make my brand 😄)

Installation: ... after few trials of cutting hose on each side to match exact fittment length, the rest was straight forward of tightenting clamps.

First imprission:
- Looks: I loved it .. nice
- Added a little deeper sound tone than stock (not loud).
- I took it for a short drive around the block, it felt little more alive. Throttle response felt 🤔 "better & smoother" .. as "if" responded earlier but also smoother, as there wasnt that sudden but delayed response.

or it could be all placebo 😂😂 .. since I have done the job of measuring, drawing, tweeking sizes, angles and lengths for development of this intake hose... so what would I feel/say other than good 😂.

I'll drive it for couple days, let the ecu adjust to any-if changes, then will go on real dyno to check of my butt-dyno calibrations.

I took it on a dyno today, with the added intake hose.

The car maxed 253WHP (consistent in three runs 252-253). That's a +6WHP .. I guess more than I expected in figures.

But I was surprised that the graph showed low end drop compared to previous run with oem pipe, because the real feel at low end is absolutely more responsive with new hose on. (will post graph once received in mail)

an end to pending mission impossible 🙃 .. #mobile_phone_stand.

Ashtray slider open, using a piece of cardboard as inclined flat backing surface (better screen view while driving) & an anti-slip pad on top 💯👌.

PS: I didn't prefer vent or dash top mounted holders.

What did you use to black out the chrome trim on the body?
Grill & emblems painted.
and wrap films for Roof (gloss) & chrome liners around windows, doors, bumpers (matt) .

Want to tell me more about that intake pipe?

Performance wise review as a/m.
I had it custom made to measured dimensions and shape of the my BH 2009 3.8L V6 (none GDI). Manufactured at www.RONTEIX.com in China according to measures I had provided them with for a direct fit. 5-ply high temperature automitive grade silicone. I do appreciate the product quality.

In case you have the none-GDI V6 & interested you can contact them for inquiry as they already have the measures & molding tools made (send along the pipe image pisted above to confirm reference, it was a 1piece job). I believe the price now should be reasonable (may be $70-$90), where as I had to pay the cost of molding tools back then for the speciric measures.

good luck
