  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Based on Korean Instagram posts I think the range is going to be higher than estimated. I believe this is a rwd based on the rims in other pics.

If this is replicable in NA, that would be great!
Then I will only need to charge once a month!

Wow, I really hope it's higher or equal to this. For a $60K+ car, this would be worth it.

In Germany/Europe we have the so called WLTP Standard. In this standard the AWD GV60 with 160kw rear and 74kw front (=318 horse power) has a WLTP range of 470km.
The AWD GV60 with 180kw rear and 180kw front (=490PS horsepower) has a range of 466km. This model is the one which is called Performance in Korea.
But from other cars you can expect that the real range is lower than the WLTP Standard. I would expect a range for the AWD models between 250km and 300km in real. But this depends on many factors as outside temperature, rain/dry weather, speed, driving on motor way/ city or countryside etc.
Maybe that‘s also useful for you.
PS: In some European countries (not Germany) there is also the RWD GV60 available with 168kW (229 horse power), only rear engine. This one has a WLTP range of 517km.

I think we have a fair bit in common here. 😀

I don’t trust dealerships. My point was that they are not the ones making the decisions that would determine whether the vehicle was eligible for a rebate.

Also, given the current supply/demand situation for cars, I was fine paying full MSRP (which I have never done before) for the EV6, but if they asked for a dollar more I would have walked away. If dealerships in your area are asking above sticker, I understand your hesitation. If you can wait things out, do so. This too shall pass.

Also i saw and read eco mode cuts all power to one of the motors , would this not substantially increase the range ??

On the reservation page,
There's the Advance and Performance package.
Do you think Performance will have all the Advance content in Performance?
The Performance listing content is so few, it seems for me that Performance includes or replaced all of Advance content and is the top Package.
1. What do you guy's think?

2. Is there anyone got the configuration sheet from the dealer?

Korean configuration sheet is all À la carte, I don't believe its a good reference point.
===
3. Also, for most of the similar EV out there, i4, polestar 2, xc40, they all comes with included data service for 3-4 years.
What you think genesis will do for canadian? Will they include free of charge internet data? EV is about tech right?

Here is another feature table, the other things to consider would be the exclusive Matte paints and the Blue interior which was really the big reason I went with the performance model.

As for data plans Genesis has 5 year updates for software on other models so maybe that will be included?

Range is 10 km more than I expected, as the Korean standard is 368. Still, it is unfortunate compared to the 440km of the EV6.

Interesting…. I was aware that the front motor disengaged, but though It happened by default in all modes.

if it happens only in Eco, I wonder if it is reflected in the advertised ranges. I can’t imagine that they’d engineer the software in such a way that there was more range on tap and they didn’t advertise it as such.

With ICE vehicles, economy, etc. is determined with the vehicle in its default mode. I suspect the same is true here. Are you sure the disconnect only occurs in eco?

Blue interior gives you suede on the touch surfaces like the door panels. As opposed to the others that only use suede on the headliners I believe.

Probably cause they have to officially measure on default mode. I remember the G70 was based on Comfort mode instead of Eco.

There is a very in depth English speaking review by a Korean lady on youtube where she compares the ev6 to the Gv60 and the ev6 in eco mode destroys the gv60 in a drag race and she explains the G 60 cuts half the power due to 1 of the motors completely disengaged ,

More great info. Why have you been holding out on us until now? 😀

Is this Canadian? I see Ergo Motion seats listed. I watched a video , but it wasn’t clear to me whether this is effectively a massage function.

The two big feature questions for me are whether we’ll see HDA 1 or 2, and whether the GV60 will have ADB headlights. If they don’t skimp on features, I might get comfortable with the price premium over the EV6.

Now that you mention it, I remember that video. I still thought (perhaps, incorrectly) that even in the default mode, the front motor was disengaged at highway speeds. If Eco could reliably add a few more KMs of range, one of the key disadvantages vs. the EV6 would go away.

I’m getting a little excited that real world range could be moderately better.
I never engaged Eco mode in ICE cars, as all it really did was kill acceleration to a point that I felt was unpleasant. If I wanted to move at a snail’s pace, I would just put the throttle to 15% instead of 30%.

In the case of the GV60, a 200HP rear motor would be just fine for most driving. I could see regular Eco use occurring. The thing that gets me is, why save it for Eco mode? You’d think the wise thing would be to make the default mode dynamic. Run just the rear motor unless wheel slippage is detected or the driver mashes the throttle. Then, they could advertise an improved range for the vehicle..

Maybe since it is a new platform, new infotainment system, first for Genesis, they're not going to mention the older HDA.
The default HDA for EV is the latest?

No. Rumours/stories that they’ve been going back to HDA1 due to the chip shortage. A number of manufacturers have been shipping cars without some features to get by with fewer chips.

This is absolutely the case with ioniq 5s at least, as my cousin who pre-ordered it about a month ago was told that it will not have the HDA2 lane changing feature.

That sucks. The Korean reviews show it does do lane change. Hopefully we get it.

I just rewatched it and apparently Eco mode shuts down the front motor completely and turns it into the RWD long range version and cuts power in half , that has got to increase range no ???
