If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Irige - my rant was not directed at you, it was just about where this forum appeared to be headed to And the need for everyone to put things in perspective is all! By the way I was not the one who spoke to Josh believe that was Rick I Yyc. I am dealing with Genesis Edmonton😜
Touche it was indeed Rick

But I agree its hard to keep things in perspective especially when we are all getting mixed information. Its why I kind of wish Genesis Canada actually gave some sort of official communication rather then leaving it up to dealerships to share information that may or may not be accurate. Getting hopes up and down takes its toll

Wow if I didn’t know better I would think this forum was on FB or some other conspiracy theory based online group, and we were discussing a divisive subject like Covid! We have people accusing others of lying about who they spoke at the dealership(Josh) and others accepting as gospel their dealers assertion that information on build numbers provided by other dealerships is ā€œtrafficking in false informationā€! People need to chill alittle here - first and foremost we are talking about a car here something that in the scope of things is pretty inconsequential when you really think about it - don’t believe many in Ukraine would appreciate our indignation and outrage regarding not getting daily updates on price, availability and delivery of our precious GV60! Secondly while I’m sure people are tired of hearing it the new normal is that there are significant supply chain issues which impact all areas of our life in particular in the area of manufacturing - if anyone has purchased a major appliance or furniture over the past two years they can attest to their lack of reliable information from salespeople to corporate personnel on when or if their purchase will arrive! Our experience with Genesis/Hyundai is no different than any number of forums I follow in the automotive world whether it regarding mainstream gas or ev offerings like Ford to other non mainstream startups like Vinfast or Fisker. The reality is no one from the CEO to the frontline salesperson really knows till the vehicle shows at the showroom truly when your vehicle will be arriving and what features may or may not be deleted due to chip shortages! While I agree information sharing from dealership to dealership and one corporate entity to another could/should be better, the reality is consumers don’t want to hear ā€œwe don’t knowā€ so while some in the auto industry try to give the best answer based on the information they have available, others don’t! - godforbide a car salesman not being honest - who would think!
Interestingly enough the one auto manufacturer who is able to give relatively accurate info on current delivery of their product is Tesla who is unique in ensuring parts availability much farther down the supply chain than other manufacturers! This from a corporate entity that has a significant history of never delivering new designs on time!
The anonymity of the internet and the presence of people complaining creates an echo chamber where people feel they have the right to complain and speculate and do so without consideration for the actual facts. If people feel that hard done by for having to wait for a luxury vehicle then they should go and buy a vehicle from another manufacturer. ( which we all know is impossible because the other manufacturers are facing the same issues) Am I happy I have to wait to get a vehicle? No. But I am understanding and all the speculation and finger pointing in the world won't change anything. I come here to get information from others on pricing delivery date options etc.

Irige - Did you not get the email yesterday from Genesis Canada? While not overly enlightening it was the first communication from corporate since I received my receipt for my preorder back on Feb. 8!

I got that email but it was the same generic one most people got. Reading about how others were getting different communications with more details, as well as the earlier topic about only being a deposit holder and not pre-ordered got me worked up. Sorry about derailing the conversation a bit.

So, what happens when they ship cars without features people pay for? Do you get it later? Is there a discount? Or do you just take what they give you or cancel?

To be clear you haven't paid for anything yet, nor signed a bill of sale. We've basically paid to be on a waitlist to have the opportunity to purchase whatever ends up coming here from the factory.

Likewise, the specs list for the exact trim and car that comes over will be made clear when pricing is announced and you actually pay for the vehicle, and if it isn't to your liking there's thousands of other people that don't mind - so they would just buy the order you cancelled.

There won't be discounts and I would be shocked if there was ever a retrofit for a removed feature but I suppose that remains possible. Realistically you have to take what eventually comes, or just cancel the order. And since pricing hasn't been announced yet, just wait for the reveal and make your decision on the final car then.

Well I guess if I am not paying for the feature, this makes sense. If they charge for a feature and don’t deliver, I would cancel.

I have my Ionic 5. I preordered, cancelled.. then said wait.. I really want it.!
and Hyundai re- allotted and and here I am. Hyundai has been nothing but professional and honst with me. Im here for the long run.

I think the latest email from Genesis shows they are ready to provide some kind of structured communication regarding our orders. It should be a relief from all the guessing and rumours we have been experiencing.

That's right, rather look at it from a positive perspective.

I paid a visit to my guy at the dealership today, we discussed several of the ongoing questions.

I was shown my rank on the list, 17th, ā€œAt This Dealership !ā€ He had no Canada ranking. We also saw that the 18th person’s delivery was ahead of mine. Without my glasses & without being too nosy, we looked at mine & the other as examples.

-OP, Black (unknown model), build May/June, delivery is presumed to be the following month, July.

-Me, copper (performance), build July, delivery August.

Proving the cars are built in groups as per colour & package, not necessarily when you were put on the list.

We also spoke of the lack of communication, to which he expressed his displeasure (insert expletives here) & said the same as many of us, that being, that they would say ā€œOur expected date of price release/demo arrival at this time is… xxxx, subject to change as the situation evolvesā€. We grudgingly agreed, no one wants to commit to anything these days for fear of backlash if the release wasn’t exactly what had been said.

There was no word as to any ā€œremoval of featuresā€, he believes that is part of the delay, making sure the builds are ā€œcompleteā€.

He also showed me the glitch on the website regarding the price, only it was through my profile page with Genesis, showing the same value only the page was different.

Any mention from him about rebate eligibility?

Or does anyone else here have news on that? I saw the one comment about them not being eligible but am hoping someone else can confirm.

Until pricing is released by Genesis, whether we’re waiting on corporate or genesis Canada anything anyone says is pure speculation. To most of us it seems easy if the rumored pricing of 66/76 are true just make a base model rwd single motor ā€œavailableā€ for 59,999 to qualify for the rebate at least for the rwd and advanced. Almost every other market offers a single motor variant and since it wasn’t available for pre order you could tell people it’s 18 months away if you do swap and probably not loose many sales, even possibly increase demand for the advanced if they want, but until there is an official price announcement anyones guess is simply a guess but from the recent rumors of there to be believed I wouldn’t hold my breath

Nope, he was in the same boat we are, all speculation, but now that Tesla has upped their price again, the rebate is more of a dream than before.

Interesting article here Major electric vehicle players hit the Canadian market in Q2 EV round up

"The price of the Genesis GV60 crossover is slated to be announced in mid-May, with customer deliveries planned soon after, confirmed company spokesperson Dustin Woods. It will be built off the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, both of which feature top trims that land right around $60,000."

I’ve put deposits down on both the Audi Q4 e-Tron and the GV60. If Audi can price its AWD EV for Canada at less than $60k, You’d think Genesis, who is after the German market, would be priced similarly.

Well it looks like we will all know one week from today. Isn’t May 17 the announcement day?

Problem is that the EV6 GT-line 2 is already beyond 64000$ (minus applicable rebate: 7000qc+5000fed pre-tax), Quebec out the door is 52000$+tax.
GV60, if priced above 60000$, no rebate, lets say 64000$+tax//advance, and 71000$+tax/performance.
That's a hefty 12000$/19000$ differences! Being with the Genesis badge and some extra values; that's a lot of asking of a step up from EV6.
If they aim to attract customer, that's not the way to go for a lot of 1st time Genesis buyer.

I’m really hoping we are all just taking a pessimistic view of pricing and that we will be pleasantly surprised. Once there is a rumour of an ā€œestablishedā€ price of $66k and $76k that seems to create a floor for our expectations. Hoping we are all wrong as in too high bud we see a more competitive price.
