  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I finally got around to taking some pictures. Thanks to all the help from this forum my car is AMAZING and looks good too. The sun was out in full force today so the interior pictures look a little dull. I can assure you the interior looks rich in person thanks to 303 Aerospace Protectant!!!

Veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! White is the way to go IMO. Thanks for sharing! You got one pimpin' ride my friend!!!!!

Unfortunately I can't see your pics at work - my company blocks access to sites like photobucket, which is where your photos are hosted. I'll check 'em out tonite @ home...

Great choice. Saddle looks great. I think white/saddle will by my choice for 2011.

Sexy!!! :)
Love that clean white exterior w/ the saddle interior.
I have the same wheel caps and love the look of it on the V8 18" wheels.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

There are still some 2009 units available that you can get a great deal on !!!

Nice car. One trick to getting shots in bright light is to use fill flash. That will expose the darker areas. You can also use a big reflector to bounce light into the darker areas.

My lease doesn't end until February 2011 so I'll see what's available at that time. But, I've heard that the 2009 suspension is just awful. Do you know anything about that?

I wouldn't say awful, but if you or your passengers are sensitive to it, and you have the wrong roads around you, the body "pitching" can be quite annoying. Even the 2010's are going to be firm, though. Your best bet is to drive the car you are considering purchasing over the roads you will drive on.

Not me.

Incredible looking car. I can now use your/our car as my desktop background. All you need is the rear spoiler and we could pass for twins!

Yup- I'm completely in love with the Genesis! Thanks for the comments..... Its funny how we can all comment on each others cars even though they are almost all identical!

Interesting your "wood trim" is walnut which is what I wanted but could only get mahogany.

Very nice

I still don't understand how anyone can choose the wood trim colors. Is there really a choice? and if so.....what's the realistic chance of getting the exterior/interior/wood combo of your choice? White with saddle is my choice as well, as I'm tired of owning a white exterior and black interior(shows too much dust).

Any particular reason you didn't go for the Tech package?

I can tell you why I didn't. It seemed to be a ridiculously high price to pay for what amounts to a built in GPS. The non tech already had USB, Ipod and auxiliary support as well as a decent built in bluetooth. I have a stand alone GPS and GPS navigation on my phone. I couldn't see dumping $3000 to get a third GPS built into the car. On top of that, then I'd have to buy the expensive GPS updates from Hyundai...when they become available. I bought lifetime GPS updates for my Garmin for less than half of a single update for the Genesis and Sprint Navigation downloads the latest maps, to my phone, real time.

When Hyundai gets a voice activated system, on the level of Ford/Microsoft's "Sync", I'll reconsider.

My car has the tech package. One reason why I wanted the tech for for the built in Navigation. I don't like fumbling around for the extra hardware.... I have enough stuff to carry around with me. For me, the navigation has worked flawlessly but I do hear that some people are having old or mis information given to them.

It is nice to have everything built in, but not so nice if you can't get current updates and the darn thing doesn't have the current roads in it. Also, not having voice navigation is a HUGE disappointment in a $3000 dollar system. Of course, once you've played with Ford's Sync system, everything else seems archaic. I read Google will be getting into the game soon (think someone just announced a partnership with them.) I suspect, in the next few years, there will be several competing voice activated systems, on even lower end cars. This will bring prices down, and features up, for all of us.

P.S. I played with my neighbor's 2004 Mercedes navigation system and it is particularly horrible to use. It isn't very intuitive how you input the address and it takes some real concentration to stab at the little up-down-left-right buttons (all separate) as you hunt and peck away at the on screen keyboard. The directions keys are small and mounted at one of the farthest points from the driver, on the module. We've come a long way since then. I don't think his map database has ever been updated either. I didn't see any way to search for POI's (points of interest), like gas stations or airports.

I'd much rather plug in my Garmin than park by the side of the road for 10 minutes while inputting data into his system.

to each their own.

Do you mean Voice Navigation as it won't say street names?
