A bit late but thought this would be interesting to reply to. I tried posting this before but it didn't seem to go through (I think b/c I edited it?) so sorry if this got posted twice:
I’m in the US. Here Mercedes offers AR nav (or “Augmented video for navigation” as they call it) up and down the model range, even on the GLA and GLB. I have a 2020 GLB with it.
Two interesting anecdotes which might help decipher why GV60 is missing it:
1.
Chip Shortage: From conversations I’ve had with Mercedes, if you try to order a car with AR nav now, you might not get it due to the chip shortage. That said, this makes a bit more sense for them since Mercedes uses a dedicated camera for that (behind the rearview mirror) which otherwise wouldn’t be on the car and is different from the front surround-view parking camera. Afaik, the GV60 will have the camera needed regardless; so, not really a good reason for the GV60 to omit unless it turns out it's missing a camera.
2.
Regulation: Despite the chip shortage issues, I just went to MB USA and was able to spec a GLB with AR nav, though it did give me a chip shortage warning when I started the configurator. Tried the same thing on Mercedes Canada, got the chip shortage warning, but found that only the regular nav was available. So maybe there is a regulation issue preventing AR nav in Canada?
It’s worth noting, however, that it appears MB implements AR nav differently than Genesis. It seems that Genesis allows you to have the camera on for the whole drive (regulatory issue?). Mercedes on the other hand only brings up the camera feed when you’re stopped at lights or if you’re approaching a turn. Maybe this implementation allows them to skirt under some regulation in the US but not Canada? I’d be skeptical however, since it will happily bring up the feed even if you’re approaching an exit at highway speeds. If there is a regulation, I’d have a hard time imagining it would allow that.
Anyway, tl;dr: idk. Hopefully someone really into AR nav found this helpful.
Actually, a quick last-minute add: I just lurked around
some MB forums and found people from both the US and Canada who’ve reported not getting AR nav due to the chip shortage. On their build sheets, there was a note saying “Retrofit” or “Omission”. This tells us two important things:
1. People were able to order Mercedes with AR nav in Canada. So, it’s likely there isn’t a blocking regulation there.
2. There’s a precedent for automakers (or at least Mercedes) to do retrofits for components missing due to the chip shortage...

Sounds like AR nav and HDA2 to me

... That said, not getting my hopes up with Genesis.
