  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

Just found this review from 4/20 while noodling…interesting review with an equally fascinating summation of the GV70 from a blind person’s perspective:

No, the HUD is not "faint" or too cluttered. I use mine on every drive and find it quite helpful for many things.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was wearing polarized lenses.

Must be nice having HUD, jealous. I don’t have that, so I can’t comment. However the 2023 GV70 Sport Advanced now has HUD. Maybe a new owner wants to chime in?
Is there a way to turn up the display. There is an our Mazda . Also if you are wearing Polarized sunglasses they make it hard to see HUD.

For someone to say the HUD is too faint... maybe they were probably wearing polarized glasses as that will certainly make it hard to see, almost as though it's nonexistent depending on the glasses. If that's not the case, then the HUD display was turned down to dim. You can definitely brighten the HUD, adjust the height, even make small rotation or turn it off.

OK, good to know! It looked great on my test drive so I was surprised to hear that. No other reviewer has ever mentioned a problem with the HUD...just the opposite!

Dee-Genesis nailed it is my guess in that the reviewer was wearing polarized glasses.

The HUD is too faint and has too many reflections, so you should turn it off? I've never heard that from anyone before - has anyone found this to be an issue? I just did the test drive as I'm still waiting for mine, but I didn't think it was an issue in that short time I drove it...
I've never had any issues with clarity (faintness/reflection) with HUD. It's good they included this in the advanced version now.

HUD is still not available in the USA on 2023 GV70 any trim except the 3.5TT Sport Prestige model.

Yeah, that still seems strange...they have added the fully digital dash and other features, weird that isn't available. It is available on all models from the 2.5T Advanced and up in Canada. But we don't get the digital dash on anything but the top of the line 3.5T.

Man, this bites. I have a 2023 GV80 2.5 Prestige and it came with the digital dash and HUD. Wonder why they would make such different options between the GV70 and GV80. They are both a lot alike except for size.

May be if all us waiting for the right opportunity to buy one should go to another brand. Th at will get the corporations attention "do not short change American buyers".

It's even dumber than that, CR recommendations aren't based on owner reports or data, they're based on what the CR staff themselves test and like. In other words, it's totally subjective.
I am happy with my 2022 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. It is choc full of advanced technological offerings, there is a learning curve and requires time to become familiar with features. A fun car to say the least!

Another review from NSW Australia. Other than his gaff about the GV70 having switch gear from other Hyundai products (huh?), and his lack of knowledge on the fact one can turn off the augmented engine noise, it’s a pretty good review:

It's a written review but it confirms how I feel about the seats in the GV70:

"the seats are firm, so they aren’t as comfortable as some rivals’ seats. Even worse, they don’t have enough support, which can make longer drives a chore."

I drove a Santa Fe the other day with leather seats and it was much more comfortable that the GV. It's a real shame.

Which seats do you have? Quilted leather? Suede inserts? Mesh?

They didn't make anything great, hood looks all messed up and misaligned with that "design", it even looks like there is a gap between the hood and the headlight for crap to accumulate there.
Interior is nothing great, with that stupid so called 14 inch screen that is so narrow it looks like two 7" screen put together, 10.25 screen looks better.
Cargo area sucks, for that that price, thanks but no thanks.
2022 Tucson looks better, even though they went too far with the side creases, but at least the cargo area is very functional, and the interior is better looking, and they are coming up with a plug-in hybrid too.
Don’t sound like you should consider the GV70 at all. Best of luck

The fact they chose the front wheel drive biased Audi Q5 over the longitudinal engine layout of the rear wheel drive biased GV70 says to me that your source doesn’t know shit. Lol

Have you tried deflating the lumbar?

Lmao that may be so, but they are right about the seats. I have the mesh seats.

After 12.5k miles I’m growing to have an actual hatred for them. I love the car but whatever moron at Genesis thought to themselves - “yea let’s make a flat, hard, unsupportive seat and put it in our luxury vehicle” - needs to be fired.
