Shifting Issue with G80 (2-3rd gear only)

Curious if anyone has seen this issue with a 2017 G80 jerk/rough shifting when going into 3rd gear only? All other gears are smooth. I have been experiencing this issue lately with my G80 and you can feel it when it shift from 2-3rd gear. Initially it happened when I am turning and I take my foot of the gas to slow down then step on the accelerator, then you feel the jerk. Now it happens in all driving conditions.

I think it happens to me while in sport mode.
Haven't noticed in normal mode though.

Genesis issued a TSB for that. You need to replace a solenoid called 35RC solenoid in the valve body. It's an easy fix.

Still there. I flashed my trans fluid and it improved but it's still noticeable.

You'll need the exact part number that matches your car's make, model and engine and transmission type.

If you could pass by the dealer, they will tell you the part number. Then you can either buy it through the dealer or from Transmission Valve Body - 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80



The part that you'll need is a solenoid that is responsible for the shift from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th gear. It's one solenoid that is responsible for these two shifts.

Exactly! That's how I normally re-produce it but sometimes just driving with my foot on the pedal and it does it.

You'll need the same part numbers as mentioned in the TSB that I attached above. But first try to change the transmission fluid if it helps.

I'd start with ATF fluid change first. If it does not help, then you may try replacing the solenoids
