  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Gift from Genesis?

I bought my Genesis last year, and a few months later, I received a dinner for two at a fancy restaurant and a gift basket with fruit and cosmetics for my wife as a gift from the dealer. It was my first time buying a new car, and I wasn't expecting to get any extra gift from the dealer. I had only bought used cars before, and all I could get as a gift from the dealer was a spare tire in the trunk. My wife and I were very pleased to receive such a gift. Thank you, Genesis :)

Some dealers get it and some don't. I got some balloons and cookies delivered to my work location when I purchased a new Hyundai back in 2002 and although it was not much, it really stuck with me. I got 4 more cars from that dealer. They send it to me at work so my fellow workers would see that they do a little something nice.
Now thinking back on the last 4 cars I have purchased, (All luxury brand BMW, Acura, Audi) and Genesis, the Genesis was the only one that did not throw in a trinket or two. I don't expect it, but it is always nice.

All I got for buying my GV80 was to keep the dealer's plastic ball point pen I signed with.

Black or blue ink?

I've bought five Hyundai/Genesis cars and got a gift direct from corporate each time. Last was 2018 so perhaps they no longer do it.

One was an insulated soft cooler I still use when grocery shopping.

I got the same gift with my GV70 about three weeks after delivery. The watch box and key holder were pretty nice—was surprised they even did that.

Mine showed up today too, and I was surprised it came with a handwritten note. The frame’s pretty decent quality. I already had a similar one from nixplay.com that I use for family pics, so now I’m thinking of setting this one up at my work desk. Weird timing though—I didn’t get any email heads-up from Genesis either.
