  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G80 under-body panels on a 2015 Genesis 5.0 for easier oil changes.

Sorry to revive an old thread but can we confirm that the 2017 G80 under body panels work for a 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan. I believe the part # for the G80 front panel is 29110 B1210 and the part number for the original 2016 version is 29110 B1400 thank you in advance.

I used the part numbers in my signature without any issues on my 2015 5.0 RWD Genesis; not sure if the same part numbers will fit a 2016 model.

I have the 3.8 2015 awd ultimate pkg. Was curious if the panels for the 5.0 fit my car or if I should just cut and hinge the access panels...

I only know that the panels I have fit my 2015 5.0 RWD model.

I'm going to apologize also for resurrecting an old thread, but upon inspection of my front undercover, it looks like one of the brackets on the passenger side has completely come off the car. Additionally, I have a few bolt locations where the bolt seems to have completely sheard off (likely from an oil change place with an over-zealous impact driver). Does anyone know what the part number is for that bracket? It's the metal L-shaped bracket on the passenger side of the car towards the rear of the front under cover. Thanks in advance.

I think it's 29121a, but I'd like someone to verify since I've only ever been under the car once.

Anybody installed G80 2018+ undercovers on a 2015 3.8 yet?
Gonna have to replace as right behind the front right tire it looks a little buggered up from who knows what

Replaced the front and rear under panels on my 2015 3.8L AWD with the newer 2018 version that the dealer told me would fit a 2018 of the same specs. They fit perfectly and they have the access panels for changing oil and filter! Much easier for the mechanic when they change oil. The bolts kept breaking off and the panel would hit some snow then drag on the ground.
what a pain. The local mechanic had to work at drilling out the broken bolts. I put all new bolts and front push clips. I bought it all online at Hyundaipartsdeal.com both panels cost a total of $588 which includes $80 shipping. The dealer would have been $200 more than that. And I bought the bolts and clips for $30 at the same place.

I just did that. See the post below

I can’t see how to edit my post. Actually I ordered the under panels from QuirkParts.com and the hardware was from HyundaiPartsdeal.com

Well, we've owned the 2015 5.0 long enough that I grew completely tired of taking those doggone underpanels off to change the filter and oil. A couple years ago I bought the manual top side tube down the dipstick holder method, and it works but 1) I still had to remove the front under cover to get to the filter and 2) I felt like I always left a quart plus of old oil in the car..
So..
I took the covers off a couple days ago and using the pics on page 1 of this thread, a ruler on the computer monitor screen and a little scaling math, figured out where to cut my own flaps. I used zip ties to hold the flap in place when it isn't open. Works!
Should have done this 100,000 miles ago!

I got tired of removing the panels on my 2015 after about two oil changes. Heck, I actually dreaded doing the oil change every 4k miles on my Genesis with the old panels. The updated under panels with the service ports are well worth the cost for me since I do change my oil myself every 4k miles. Now an oil change is very easy and quick on my 2015 Genesis.

Man, you really must like your mechanic to spend nearly $600 to make his job easier.:)

Hahaha. Well, the bolts kept breaking off and then the panel would drag on the highway and I would have to get under there and wire it up and patch it up. That got real old.

ya it was a bad design, my wifes kia of the same year had access panels built in! I ended up cutting out my own access panel after my second oil change.

Did anyone replace the hardware with some that wont rust out? I live in the rust belt and 90% of the bolt heads have snapped.

You could try to find some stainless steel bolts of the same size and thread pitch to replace the black coated OEM steel bolts with on your body covers.

Ill check out a hardware store this weekend. I hope drilling out the snapped ones aren't a pain.
