I sometime wonder what they really for PDI other than the tech doing a quick eyeball for MIL lights, headlights, washer fluid ,coolant, tire pressure and getting the lot guy to quickly clean the car up? Apparently Hyundai allocates 1.8 hours of paid time to do the
PDI list. I would be shocked if they actually spent more than 30 minutes with mine.
As my car was a reallocation from another dealer it already had a PDI and then my dealer said they were going to do their own PDI. Based on my past experience with Hyundai I insisted on a predelivery inspection of my own which resulted in me finding the rear hatch being askew and bottom driver's seat cushion's air bladder being non functional. Which they still took their sweet time correcting but I am absolutely positive it would have taken much longer as an after sale concern. Even on delivery day I noticed residual interior protective plastics and adhesive residue on rear hatch that I asked they clean before I left. Common this isn't rocket science.
