  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

I’ve noticed that my door handles squeak when they retract. Not sure if this is the same issue or not.
Mine do too...this sound is the exact same as the gear shifting sound. It's going in on the 14th to see what they can find out and I will report back.

This happened to me this week (~5 degrees C weather). It was raining on my drive, so I figured it was due to moisture in the brakes (but it was definitely more audible and annoying than prior cars I've owned). Will keep an ear for same in dryer conditions over the next week.
Update 2 days later in dry conditions... Same noise when reversing after 'dry' conditions for over 24 hours and >50km of highway driving. Didn't see as loud as the first time, but I'll check again today, and if the noise is audible again.... I'm going to ask my local dealer about it (fwiw, I have a running list of 20 questions/obsevations/curiosities/concerns and suggestions that I started ~2 months ago that still haven't been answered to my satisfaction).

From your descriptions it isn’t clear whether you may have the same door handle issue I do, but if it is similar, I think that it is caused by road mess/moisture getting into the mechanism which is causing a rubbing sound. I suspect the fix is cleaning and lubing some components.

Hi all. New here.
My GV60 is almost a month old.
Several odd issues. Some minor, like rattle, the radio turns on by itself and wind noise.

But the most disturbing is the shimmy (and buffeting starting at 67 mph.
If it's unbalanced tire(s), they'd be rear. Not much steering wheel shake, just seat of the pants and a low frequency sound.
I'm bringing it in to the dealership to rebalance the tires, but wondered if anyone else has had this issue.
Concerned it may be something else ..

Wasn't sure if I should start a new thread but since there is a bit of following on this one, I will ask here. Does anyone else notice a burning smell when using the heater. I've got a performance here in Canada. I've already got about 7,000 km on it yet the smell still persists.

There is an existing thread on this. IIRC it's "Vibration at Highway Speeds" or something similar.

I thought I had an issue of screeching when I shifted into gear plus the screechy door handles. Turns out, it’s Just the door handles. I heard it when i shifted because the doors lock at the same time. I took it in and it needs a part in one of the handles. I don’t know what part or when it will show up.

Can anyone tell me what this warning light means....on a long drive.? Its not flashing or beeping. Just constant exclamation mark. 20221220_153145.webp

On the non-electric cars, it means that there is something that needs your attention. It could be as minor as low washer fluid level, or it could be serious (though serious should have other warnings displayed). Watch the display when you turn the car on to see if there are any temporary warnings or indications that your are missing.

My Heads-up display stopped showing the Speed Limit sign.
I couldn't find a check button in the Heads-up setup menu...

Never mind .. it was under Driver Assistance / Speed Limit Warning. Who'd have thought?

Three issues with my GV60 that have happened recently:

1. One passenger door handle will not automatically close - the handle stays sticking out when the car doors are locked. A gentle push on the handle and it closes fine. But this doesn't work when you are driving. It just started a couple of days ago when the temperature hit negative 10 degrees Celsius. No snow yet, and I checked, there is no ice buildup blocking the handle from closing.

2. The app to start the climate control fails to connect about 15% of the time, it says that either my vehicle has not been started for a few days (it has) or I have a poor cellular connection (I don't)

3. Ever since I got the vehicle the fingerprint detection has been hit and miss, about 50%of the time it works.

Was indeed the front sensors.... had a quick Pitstop.... off and on to get this. Got out and wiped the front sensors...warning disappeared about 30seconds later. Good to know I guess.

I noticed the same thing too - I'm only at ~1500 miles, but dealership told me that others have reported the same thing with GV60 and G80 electric. They think its due to the heater having a plastic tube and it needs to be "broken-in" too. They said they will double check the issue for me when they come pick it up on the 19th for some alignment/HDA issues though.

I'm now at 6 months and 12,000 km. The smell may just have started to go away. I don't really mind it.

I had my car in earlier this week. Three handles being replaced.

Where are you located? My squeaking very much coincided with winter weather. I suspect it's due to road grime getting into some tight spaces. Could the same be the case with you?

Does anyone get a loud metallic brake squeal when reversing ?

If it's happening when the brakes are applied while braking, yes. I've always thought it was due to the brakes never being otherwise used.

It happens every time i reverse.
I had it serviced and they claim to have lubricated everything, but it is still very audible.
