There are many other alarm/remote start companies than just Viper. Read the threads about it on this forum to see the ones that others are using. It by viper?
Some do (like the post above) and some don't. That's why you need to actually read what had already been said here.Thank it work with your cellphone right
That is quite a statement. I'm not doubting you but can you back it up with the technical differences? The Genesis modem is built into the $3500 head unit. Is it the same on the other car markers? Do you know for a fact that Genesis can offer a reasonable priced modem to add into the system?I'm reading some of the remedies from the 3G shutdown from other auto manufacturers. Most are offering either a software update or hardware update. Some of the hardware updates are free and a couple are either $500 or $900. The point is, they all offer a remedy unlike Hyundai/Genesis. So it being cost prohibitive is not a good excuse since the other manufactures are doing it.
You must have the 8" screen. Those are probably okay. It's those of us with the 9.2" ("ultimate") that lost connectivity. As of today, mine is still working.
It going to cost me $1500 for what you haveView attachment 50529
Find a reputable compustar dealer.
WOW!It going to cost me $1500 for what you have

You say cost prohibitive is not a good excuse. OK, but what is the cost to them or us? I know what I'd pay but do you know what others are willing to pay to continue the service?
Looking forward to the details.
You went to best buy?WOW!
That's almost double what I paid.
I assume you shopped around, but it really shouldn't cost that much.
Mine would have been a couple hundred cheaper if I hadn't opted to add an impact alarm to it.
For me:
- $600 Compustar remote starter and Drone Mobile and install
- $200 Shock sensor/ impact alarm and install
- $11/month Drone Mobile premium subscription
Happy New YearEd.
I didn’t say Hyundai/Genesis could, I said I suspect they could considering most of the other auto manufactures did indeed offer solutions and remedies ranging from software updates to hardware updates. If they all can do it, why can’t Hyundai do it? If I recall our cars come with a Lexicon head unit and the only other cars that come with Lexicon is Rolls Royce/Bentley. They offered a solution. Porsche offered to upgrade the hardware for $500.

No.You went to best buy?
Good story. So bottomline. It affects most all manufacturers and not just Hyundia/Genisis. For most, there is no solution. For others they have to pay and for some there is a free (but may be limited) solution. Here’s a link to Consumer Reports listing what manufacturers are doing what. 3G Wireless Network Shutdown Means Your Car May Lose Automatic Crash Notification - Consumer Reports
