  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

I double checked this afternoon - I'm seeing the same display mode on both screens in my GV60. In the daytime they are both light, after sunset they are both dark mode. It all happens automatically. So for some reason it's not showing mismatched screens like the i3 picture you posted. Maybe there is some setting that I have that is different, but it's not something I did intentionally.
Whoa! That's a fascinating datapoint! Can you share a picture of your dash for us to see? Additionally, do you run your iPhone in dark mode or light mode?

a few of you briefly touched on it. but may I know if any of you noticed differences in driving? for example, stop start smoothness, or going through bumps feeling different?

I can't speak for others, but I have noticed zero changes in anything other than the entertainment and navigation systems.

Mine also behaves this way. The Apple Map in the instrument cluster matches the map displayed in CarPlay on the center screen. My phone is set to dark mode always but CarPlay is set to automatic.

Thanks for another data point. Can you share some pictures? Additionally, which version of iOS are you on? Thanks!

Their site still shows September 2024. It changed to September from August in late July, so I’m hopeful this means it’s still on track for September release.
The update loaded a few days ago. (I’m in Ohio.) I was alerted in the car but not via the app. Biggest change was addition of Bluetooth CarPlay. Works very well although I did run into a phone issue today. We’ll see if this was a one-off or something more problematic. Interesting that this update was Hyundai-wide but from what I’ve heard, only Genesis finally got the CarPlay upgrade.

Hi, i am a GV60 owner from germany and i Like to ask if the U.S. owner also have Problems with IOS 18 and the Genesis App? The Genesis don‘t work with the Genesis app it Shows: Warning, jailbreak iPhone. App deactivated.

I think I did notice some tightening on turns for the suspension as noted by @azurecardinal. But it might be a placebo effect since I am not able to try them one after the other. A little less floaty.

Not doubting you, but why do you suppose Hyundai would do an over the air modification of the suspension and not tell anyone about it?

When using carplay navigation, it seems if I have the turn by turn directions showing in the cluster screen (the one right in front of the steering wheel), the larger center screen shows a route overview and doesn't show the map with the "car facing up" map orientation.

Just wondering if someone has found a way so that both the center and cluster screens show turn by turn navigation with the "car facing up" map?

To be fair to him, the last update (in oct 2023) didn't mention anything about changing the way the car drives either, but there were definitely a bunch of tweaks that made the drive much more enjoyable. I got the car a week before the update, so I drove for like a month and a bit before realizing there was an update. I remember after updating, quite a few of things that annoyed me at the time disappeared.

I think that is an excellent feature. I like being able to have both the turn-by-turn and the route overview visible at the same time. It's especially useful here in Los Angeles where the route overview will give me a heads up on traffic problems ahead.

By the way, if you toggle the cluster screen to a different view (for example the HDA view) then the center screen will automatically switch to the turn by turn display.

Why not? The a major benefit of having OTA on the integrated suite of vehicle software is to have the ability to tweak and improve vehicle performance after-sale.

We already know we can custom tweak the GV60 suspension with MANDO ESC10. Why wouldn't Genesis modify and improve the ride and handling with software updates?

While they can update OTA, this was marked as a navigation map and software update. This past spring they released vehicle system updates OTA, so my assumption would be that any updates to vehicle system software would be marked as such.

I’ll try to grab a photo the next time I use it, but it’s really just showing light theme CarPlay in the center screen and light theme Apple Maps in the cluster during the day and dark theme for both during the night.

I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 18, but it also did the same with iOS 17.

I'm not telling them not to tweak it, but I am saying if they are going to do so it would be decent of them to let us know in advance that they are doing so. And perhaps to give those of us who are happy with the current suspension a way of opting out of the "update."

I've had my Lucid Dream Edition since March, 2022. Thus far we have had 71 OTA Updates and while many have been minor bug fixes there have also been many that were large and dramatic enhancements. I am very glad to see Hyundai following suit and improving the car for current owners. Many car companies just move on and forget the previous owners.

Thanks for the data points, please snap a pic when you are able. I have literally tweaked as many settings as I possibly could to get the instrument cluster to show light mode to no avail and I would like to see what it looks like.
