  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

The Update includes the latest Navigation updates for maps, and since your car is so new, it may already include the Navigation portion of the Update, however, the most notable feature in the Update referred to on this thread is the addition of wireless Apple Carplay/ Android Auto. The older models don't have this. If your new car already has wireless AA/ACP, this Update for your car may not be needed. And, that could be a reason you aren't seeing an Update on your Infotainment screen.

It's unclear which priority Genesis is giving each model/year of the cars. It seems to be random.
If your car doesn't have wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto...
You can download the Update, and manually do the Update.

You need a 64GB 3.0 thumb drive. The Update directions are pretty straightforward.
Here is the link if you choose to manually download the Update...

This update link is for the Middle East. It has not been available for download for North America and only comes as OTA.

Super jealous of you... looks like you already have the update; the date on your Navigation software is 9/11. Still waiting for the magic to happen over here.
My software version doesn't match what others have now that they updated. And when I go to set up AA my systems tells me to plug in a USB cord in order to enable it....so looking like no dice for me yet either.

No wireless AA for me as it is telling me I need to use a USB cord to mirror phone. Whomps.

Not sure what you mean... "This update link is for the Middle East."
I used The above link to download the latest Update, including wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto.
I'm curious, as the link works on my computer.

What happens when you go to the link?

Your link includes ‘/ME/’ directly after update.genesis.com. That page and update is for the Middle East region.

Also, the update for USA is labeled “2024 1st Navigation Map and Software Update” and is dated September 11th 2024.

I’m only pointing it out because their user profile indicates Arizona.

Yes, I'm in Arizona, and that is the link I successfully used to download the latest U.S. Update, which includes wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto. I don't think it makes a difference that "ME" is in the web address.

When doing the Update/Download, the site confirms your language/country/model/year, etc.
Several Genesis sites for the Navigation Update come up when searching Google, and many lead to the same information with identical-looking pages

Here's one link that says, "EN" instead of "ME" but they both have the exact same information and the same downloading capabilities for the latest Update.

The region does make a difference for version numbers and release notes.

That's interesting that your download gave you the latest software. That's what a lot of people seem to be waiting on.

Using the Navigation Updater tool to download the latest software for the GV60 it still grabs the old software for me. The version is in this file it downloads. Your updater tool is downloading the update from 9/11?

What is also interesting is the first site I posted, July 2024 Navigation Map and Software Update > Notice | Official Genesis Navigation Update Website, shows that the Update on that site includes wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The detailed instructions on how to install wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto are on this site

The second site I posted, Navigation Updater | Official Genesis Navigation Update Website, doesn't mention anything about wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto being part of the Navigation update.

So, I don't know if the "US/EN" site's Navigation Download includes the Update for wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto with the Navigation Update since there isn't any mention of it. I would think it would be the same. Very confusing.

The updater tool I used is the first one dated July 2024

New post-update discovery: my departure time settings got reset and Off-Peak Times got turned off although the start and end times remained intact.

I plugged my car in early today and just now realized it started charging immediately instead of waiting for the off-peak window.

This also reminded me that I wish they supported multiple off-peak rules. PSEG in NJ is off-peak for the entirety of Saturday and Sunday. With my Mach E, I was able to configuee M-F and SS differently.

The unintuitiveness and inflexibility of the vehicle’s built-in charge scheduling is why I got a ChargePoint home flex instead of a dumb unit.

Also, GV60 still excluded from this update in Canada 😭

I have a "smart" Juicebox but I didn't like how its charge windows played with the Mach E and assumed it would be similar with the GV60.

I want the car to charge during off-peak hours but don't want the supply cut off when the car is scheduled to pre-condition outside the off-peak times.

It's not the end of the world with a 7-day 10pm-7am schedule. It's rare that I'd need to be charging between 7am and 7pm on a Saturday or Sunday.

Man, it is so frustrating to have to wait for the OTA update with absolutely no sense of when it will come. I called the Genesis "Navigation Solution Center" today and was told that they release OTA updates in batches. The woman I spoke to said she believed the latest OTA had been paused for some reason (?) and she had no sense of when it might be unpaused, but then contradicted herself by suggesting it would probably arrive by the end of the month. She suggested I call MapInSoft, who handles the software for manual downloads of updates. Spoke with someone there who said he didn't have a release date for the manual update.

What a ridiculous way to roll out an update, particularly one as consequential as this one. Once you've got the code, why wouldn't you release both a manually downloadable version and an OTA version at the same time? That way customers who want the update immediately wouldn't have to wait, and those who didn't know/care could wait for the OTA version to arrive? Also, if you had your car in for service, your dealer could apply the update -- further cementing good feelings about the whole customer experience.

Just venting, I suppose.

Same here I have a 24 gv60 performance and I have not gotten the update yet ota. I do know this update ota is for 24 and 25 only but it should be working and it's not showing up. I've left it running 24 hrs and driven over 300 miles since 9/11
I have a 2023 GV60P and I got it over the air and installed.

I use an Emporia Energy charger and it has great time of use management, peak demand management, and can connect to my utility provider for them to control and provide a discount. It works far better than controlling usage through the vehicle and even allows setting a specific max amperage to charge at.

2023 GV60 automatically updated. Works great! Now android auto is integrated with on board nav. Heads up display and dash directions all using android auto. Fantastic.

Here is the link for the manually downloadable version of the OTA Update that includes wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto
You need a 64GB 3.0 USB thumb drive for the download.
The instructions are somewhat contradictory.

In one section it says you need to copy the downloadable file to your computer and then copy that file to the USB drive.
In another section, it says you can copy the downloadable file directly to the USB drive.
Either works, but it's a little quicker to copy the downloadable file directly to the USB drive, as you don't have to copy the file twice.

Do you have a GV60?
I don't. I have a GV70 MY2023.
When I checked for a download for a GV60, it does show a download, but only for the MY2023 and MY2024.
Do you have a MY2025? It shows you have a MY2023

So, this makes far more sense now. I appreciate that you’re trying to help, but the latest software is not yet available for download for the GV60 in USA or Canada. It is available for your GV70 and many other models.

OTA in the USA we get JW.USA.ccIC.001.009.240826 and the downloader tool can only get JW.USA.ccIC.001.007.240422.

Not sure if it’s been posted yet or not, but this latest update also brought the ability to map Phone Projection to a custom button to quickly toggle in and out of CarPlay or AA! I found this out because the update reset my previous custom button settings and went in to change them back and found the new options.
