  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

Thanks for the data points, please snap a pic when you are able. I have literally tweaked as many settings as I possibly could to get the instrument cluster to show light mode to no avail and I would like to see what it looks like.
This is probably the setting you want.

If I have it in automatic, the instrument cluster map and center display are both in light mode during the day. Always dark shows dark in center console and light in instrument cluster. Always show dark maps then sets the map in the instrument cluster to dark in addition to the center console.

Mine is set to the exact same settings, but my instrument cluster shows dark map. Would it be possible for you to take a picture of your instrument cluster map so that we can confirm that we are indeed talking about the same thing?

Anyone else having this issue since the update: ?

Volume memory no longer exists.
It used to be that it remembered the volume settings as I went from Radio to Media. No longer.
So when Media is turned up to '15' and I switch to Radio, it keeps the '15' setting (very loud), instead of typical for me, '4 or 5'.
The converse is also true.
I've rebooted the system. Checked all my Sound and Volume settings.

Hopefully this helps.

I’m betting that your Screen Theme is set to Black Background in the vehicle settings. That setting will change the map appearance in the gauge cluster and not the center display for CarPlay.

Oh my gawd! That’s the missing link! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it. Thanks ideutsch! Great find!

anyone else in the US not yet get the OTA update?

I tried leaving the car on for 45 minutes, then driving another 15, to no avail. I'm in the southeastern US, no idea if geography has anything to do with it.

I don't own a 64 gig thumb drive, and really don't want to buy one if the update will come OTA, but I'll get myself to amazon if things don't come to fruition soonish. just wondering if there's something I can do to speed things along OTA?

We haven't gotten it yet. Very frustrating. Left the car on "Utility Mode" for over an hour and a half, have driven it daily, but no update.

Also, don't bother buying a thumb drive. If you go to the Navigation Update website, they list what version of the system will be downloaded with the 9/11 update and it's currently •not• a new update:

If you check the SW version on your GV60, it will be the same as what's listed there.

I also tried that too. For Android Auto, it only controls the info screen and the digital speed gauge, not the map. Must be different for Carplay.

OTA for me was the first day it was available. I left the car on and plugged in once I saw the icon showing it was downloading and then installing.

When it does come out for download, you can use most any USB drive not just the small thumb drive. Last time I used a 1TB SSD (with a USB C port) I had laying around and it worked great.

What I did was once I got the message in my car that it was downloading I parked in my garage, closed the garage door, and left the car running. One of the many nice things about EVs is that there is no CO exhaust to worry about, I periodically went into the garage and peered through the window but didn't turn the car off until the screen said the download was complete.

Same here I have a 24 gv60 performance and I have not gotten the update yet ota. I do know this update ota is for 24 and 25 only but it should be working and it's not showing up. I've left it running 24 hrs and driven over 300 miles since 9/11

Here is the 64GB Thumb drive I purchased from Amazon, because I didn't want to wait any longer.

Here's the 64 GB thumb drive I ordered from Amazon because I got tired of waiting.
I got it the next day and for $10, it was worth it.

I have a 2023 GV60P and got the OTA last week

Ok, so please forgive my ignorance since I am new to Genesis and the OTA updating....

We got our GV60 on 9/15 and after reading this entire thread it appears that I should have received a OTA notification for this update...which I still haven't. See attached pictures for current software info....Is it a random just wait for the OTA to hit my GV60 or is there a way to force it? Or is it something that I should address with my dealership. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations! You're going to love it.

You didn't attach pictures, so we can't tell what you actually have. Since you got the car on 9/15, maybe it already had the OTA update before you got it? If not, I think it's just a random wait, you can't force it. Though apparently there is a way to download it via a USB stick, but I haven't heard of anyone here doing that successfully yet. Not sure if Genesis has posted the update to their web site yet for manual download.

I can't speak for how Genesis rolls out these OTA updates, but historically other systems I've worked with batch them out in groups so as not to overload their own host servers. For example, they could batch them by the head unit's IMEI, then based on registration date, or some other criteria that they've chosen - It wouldn't surprise me at all.

Super jealous of you... looks like you already have the update; the date on your Navigation software is 9/11. Still waiting for the magic to happen over here.

The Update includes the latest Navigation updates for maps, and since your car is so new, it may already include the Navigation portion of the Update, however, the most notable feature in the Update referred to on this thread is the addition of wireless Apple Carplay/ Android Auto. The older models don't have this. If your new car already has wireless AA/ACP, this Update for your car may not be needed. And, that could be a reason you aren't seeing an Update on your Infotainment screen.

It's unclear which priority Genesis is giving each model/year of the cars. It seems to be random.
If your car doesn't have wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto...
You can download the Update, and manually do the Update.

You need a 64GB 3.0 thumb drive. The Update directions are pretty straightforward.
Here is the link if you choose to manually download the Update...
