  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a way to marry a key to your personal settings?

That is for the non-2019 G80 and G90.

No 2019 vehicles have been added. So this does no good.

I wasn't posting the manuals, I was suggesting you contact Genesis through the link in the post.

this is a link to the CONTACT US on the Owners Genesis page, by contacting them and telling them you need access to the manuals for the car you own will alert them to fix the issue.

The G80 Sport came out early 2018 (Jan/Feb?) and the manuals were not added until a dozen members here all contacted them on the same day in July demanding the manuals be posted.

or just go to your owners.genesis.com page and click the contact us at the bottom.

Genesis seems to be way behind the 8-ball on owner resources, which is disappointing considering there are no Genesis dealers for support the owners, so one would expect them to get their $h1T together on the only resources we have which is their website.

Just left them a note

This discussion isn't about whether the car can memorize seat positions. We are talking about marrying the smart keys to position 1 and position 2, so that when you unlock the car, the car automagically adjusts the seats according to which position is on the key. I checked my ENGLISH manual and there is no mention of such a function.
I know and it's already been explained the keys don't have this function. It's not available. Only the buttons on the door control the positions of the steering wheel, seat, and outside mirrors. I posted the photos and the link to show where the buttons for this function reside. What you're attempting or wanting to do is not offered in the Genesis. There is no way to (marry)/link the Key FOB to these functions. Doesn't exist in the G90, G80 or G70. End of story.

Don't believe me ask your dealer service department.

Have a nice day!

Yes, we have clearly established that.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

To note...the 2 memory buttons ALSO remember your Custom Drive setting that is saved plus the HUD settings.

So in total of 5...
- outside mirrors
- seat
- steering column
- custom drive mode settings
- HUD settings

Yes, we have clearly established that.
I'm just replying to your comment to me from post #36 at 6:51 this AM. I was the one who kindly explained to you it didn't exist. Glad you understand.

No kidding Beefer! I didn't think it's was necessary to mention all the functions, as most of the owners here are already aware of them. But thanks for reminding everyone.

I know that I am replying to an old post, but in 2023 the GV70 is no different. Hard to believe. I had a 2007 Infiniti FX35 that would recognize the driver by the fob that was approaching the vehicle. I never imagined that Infiniti was above Genesis. Another issue with the fob of the GV70 is that you cannot lock the doors without it. And, you cannot lock the door with the emergency key. So, if you want to keep your fob locked in the vehicle (in a faraday pouch or wrapped in foil), because you don't want to risk dropping it in the lake while kayaking, you better at least take your phone with the Genesis Intelligent Assistance app loaded; providing you have a phone (which I don't and never will), you don't drop it in the lake, your phone is charged, you are signed up for connective services and you are in an area with service. Ford/Lincoln has the best system. Keypad entry.

Wow, quite shocked my 2020 G90 doesn't have this feature. My '08 Acura MDX has it, so I assumed everything newer than that should have it. It seems like a pretty basic, common-sense feature to have.

I've had my G70 for about a week. I haven't figured out how to marry my key to my settings and my husband's key to his settings. Any tips?
Congratulations on your new G70! To set up personalized settings for both you and your husband, you’ll want to use the "Driver Profile" feature. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Press the "User Settings" button on the infotainment screen.
  2. Select "Driver Profile" from the menu.
  3. You’ll be prompted to create a profile for yourself. You can assign your profile to your key fob by following the on-screen instructions.
  4. After creating your profile, make sure to save all your settings, like seat position, mirror adjustments, and climate preferences.
  5. Repeat the process for your husband's key by selecting "Add Profile" and linking it to his key fob.

I can tell you that a 2023 GV70 Adavnced will not allow a fob to be assigned to a user. Tried it, plus never found any instructions to back that up, not in the manual or online. I can't imagine a G70 would be any different, but I don't own one.

...reposting this in the hope that it may be monitored by Genesis, as many other forums have Factory monitors...
Absolutely love the new GV70 Sport Advanced I just purchased for my wife, but I can't understand how the key fob will not link to your profile? Ford has had this for years...even our 2010 Volvo C70 has this feature (and the Swedes are not known for being "feature rich" in their autos?) Seems like a simple thing - the key fob has a unique ID so it only works with your vehicle...why can't this digital ID be associated with your profile? So many wonderful technology features in these awesome vehicles...seems a shame that the good Korean folks missed this one? ...future update, perhaps?;)

Just picked up the latest and greatest 2025 GV70 Electrified Prestige. Nope, it does not allow key fobs to be programmed to individual user profiles. My 2007 Infiniti FX35 had that feature way back then.

But is this ID different for each of the two fobs? Do you know for sure each of the two fobs are different?

It has to be able to remember a unique ID in order to only allow registered fobs to operate a vehicle. There's also a 2 fob limit which implies it stores information about the fobs.

If you and your wife both carry the fob, both get in the car, how does it tell who is in the driver's seat? Won't you still have to make a selection?

I haven't had a car with this feature and pushbutton ignition, but I think someone earlier said it picks whoever's fob is closer to the driver's seat. If for some reason the Genesis fob detection isn't that fine-grained, they could always go with whoever's fob enters the car first.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

I think that we are talking about carrying a different fob for each. When I had my Infiniti, my fob would adjust my seats, mirrors, etc. when I walked up to it and hers would do the same for her. The keys looked identical.

So if my fob is in the left pocket and my wife puts her purse on the consul we have to manually change. If I unlock the car to put stuff in the trunk so that is first, then she is going to drive - - - - -

I'm glad I'm the only one driving my car.

Correct. If both are carrying their respective fob, how does the car know who is driving?
