  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Reviews

My sticker simply refers to it as a tow hitch. I'm not sure my wife would approve of my having a lifestyle hitch. ;)

It looks like this one.... 2021-2024 Genesis GV80 Tow Hitch

There is a round socket (with a flip up cover) on the left that I assume in for use with a trailer. I also saw some wiring harness in a box in the back hatch, and a piece that slides into the square portion of the hitch, and the cross bolt to hold it in. I'll have to double check if a ball was included. The sticker on the side of the hitch refers you back to the vehicle's owners manual for towing capacity.
It looks like you got the real deal. Different names on the sticker and you have the wire harness installed. Mine has the place for the harness, but it is not installed. But it looks exactly like yours. Sorry to put you through that.
Enjoy your car. I love mine. Zero issues with it so far.

No problem. Funny, but I don't see a lifestyle hitch listed on any Genesis webpage. I suppose it makes sense to have a less robust solution for those looking only for a bike rack or equivalent light use.

I asked the salesman about the hitch and he told me it was only for bike racks. Never heard of that. I know there are class1,2 3 maybe that is one of them

My guess would be it's the hitch without the wiring for trailer brake lights.

Interesting how they mention that there will be a Magna version. At this late in the product life cycle I would be surprised.

Looks nice, but looked cramped in back and storage very limited. That cargo cover looks like it's ready to rattle and break sooner rather than later.

Kirk really, really likes the GV80.

As an aside, some real butt-hurt Lexus owners in the comments, but old-school LS and GS owners agree with Kirk.

These guys like the coupe, it's just not for them.

Like them, never quite got the whole idea behind the whole CUV "coupe" thing and it definitely should have been a bit sportier than the standard model.

Even if they do a Magma version, the standard coupe should still be a bit sportier.

I just traded my 21 GV80 in for a 26 Coupe. Everyday storage below the beltline is pretty much the same as the 21 and the cargo cover is an improvement in my opinion. The hatch pins it in place so it can’t rattle and the basic operation is simpler and faster. YMMV of course. Lots of improvements and quiet operation in the intervening five years. Old one was on 22 inch wheels and so is the 26 - quite a big improvement in handling and NVH in the new one.

I have had my coupe for almost a year so I’m commenting as an owner as opposed to someone looking at a video review.

Yes it has less cargo space than the GV80 but I don’t need more and I like the profile a whole lot better. No problem at all for passengers in the back. The cargo cover is solid as a rock.

The main thrust is asking if it's still a good value compared to European competitors. MotorWeek says yes.
And I agree, great value with little if any compromises.

If You mean because it is a coupe it should be sportier. Not for me. I was looking for something that looked different (better) and smaller than the GV80 but with all the luxury and ride comfort. I must be their target demographic.

In that case, they should gift you one and have you do some publicity for it.
