A couple of other requests:
When locking the GV80 w/ the fob, the "beep" that the car emits as confirmation is not nearly loud enough to hear if there are any other cars running where you are standing / walking towards the store when you press the button. Why not make this a short beep of the horn like 98% of the other cars in existence?
Also, GENESIS DEALERSHIPS: I've learned that Genesis is in the process of eliminating the "dual badge" (Hyundai + Genesis) dealerships in favor of exclusively Genesis-only dealerships. While my region may be unique (there is no Genesis dealership in my home city), this effort has effectively reduced the number of dealerships within a 2.x hr drive that is able and willing to sell and service my GV80 from 3 down to 1 over the last year that we've owned this car. The initial dealership I worked with when we ordered our GV80 (~2 hr drive from home) lost their Genesis product line just as my car was about to be delivered to it from the factory. While they refunded my deposit no problem, it left me to scramble to find another dealership that carried Genesis. I found one w/ the exact build we had ordered (+/- minor options), again 2 hrs away and made the purchase. However, now a year later, I was informed that they too are loosing the ability to sell Genesis vehicles. Fortunately, for the mean time, they were able to provide the 1 year oil change and SW update no problem, but who knows for how long? Luckily there is another Genesis "Diamond" dealership within an additional 30 minute drive that I hope I can rely on for future service. Beyond that, its a 3+ hour drive to any Genesis dealership for me.
My understanding is that Genesis had requested that the two dealerships that can no longer sell Genesis vehicles open a separate dealership for Genesis only in order to "enhance the dealership experience". I know in one instance the dealership refused that request (I'm not sure about the one I made the purchase from.......but considering that there is a "Diamond" Genesis dealership within 30 minutes I'm not going to hold my breath). My point being, if Genesis is working to expand its customer base and sell more cars, they need to open MORE dealerships, not close down the few that they have. At a minimum, if an area already has a dual Hyundai / Genesis dealership, establish a new Genesis-only dealership BEFORE forcing the other one to stop selling Genesis vehicles. The lack of a nearby dealership where I'm able to get service is the most disappointing aspect of our GV80 purchase and will no doubt weigh heavily on our next car purchase. Recent actions by Genesis corporate has only made this worse.
