That can happen, of course. But I think the salient point is that the "new/next" generation knows nothing of Hyundai's past, only that they're making a quality, stylish, and dependable car today.
Yes, they do know about the past. The accountants start fiddling with all kinds of things, to make it cheaper etc. Increase profit margins and poof. That's what's happening to Lexus.
