  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is your biggest complaint about the Hyundai Genesis?

my ipod works like crap !!! just gets stuck all the time and can't see song set after I leave it .....NEVER USE THE NAV IT TELLS ME TO TAKE THE LONG WAY !!!! CAN'T CHANGE IT ...DEALER KNOWS NOTHING , LOCAL STREETS NOT HIGHWAYS AND FREE BRIDGES NOT TOLL ROADS WHICH WOULD TAKE HOURS LONGER ..A NIGHTMARE ,SO I GAVE UP AND DON'T USE IT.

I found the same thing but then after changing some settings it works well most of the time and if I want a differnt route I put in waypoints.

My best MPG with the V6 was 32.2 on the computer -- no joke. However, you may be interested to know how I did it. I drove around 60-61 on the interstate in Florida without A/C and driver-side window only cracked slightly. This was a day without much wind and mid 70's temp. I normally get 25mpg in mixed driving but I have a very light foot. I once had to follow a friend who drives very different than I and saw my mpg drop into the 19/20 range -- that was my worst.

If you have a Tech package, set a destination, then press the voice command button and say reroute fast. It's under help -> navigation commands or help -> routing commands, something along those lines. You've got it set to the wrong setting, by default, and it sounds like your dealer is a moron. Let me know if this works.

My ‘steering easy access’ stopped working after 3 months of working fine.
I reset the steering Colum as described on page 10 of the steering thread and all is fine again.

what would be your biggest complaint about your Genesis?

my biggest complaint is that I dont get to drive my genny as much I would like. there area few quirks like the traction nanny not fully dis engaging. I would like the sub-bass to be a tad more prominent or controllable. I would have liked the inside of the headlamp assembly to be body colored. I am disappointed that hyunda didnt off the option of an installed espresso machine

I love this car more and more!:D

Now that we have over 16000 miles on our 2011 4.6 sedan my biggest complaint is that Hyundai did not have a two for one sale because I want another one so I do not have to share.

The Dunlop Tires. I had an Azera before and it had junk tires too. Once I replaced them, it was like a different car!!

I drive a company car, so early changeover is not an option. I trade regularly and am pretty sure that if Hyundai still insists on saving $ on tires, I will change to another car next trade.

It's really sad, because other than this, I have loved my Hyundai - every time. I just can't spend another 30,000 miles listening to droning tires because somebody in Korea decided to save a few bucks. It's the one area they still scream "econocar" in. And you read the complaints everywhere, but we still get whatever rates worst on Tire Rack's list.

Make the deal for better tires when you trade.

I also drive a leased company car and I got Michelin A/S Plus tires for $100.00
extra at the dealer.

Ok that's good to know, but they still did not address the cooled seat for the passenger. Even the new Sonata has a heat seat in the rear.

So does the new Genesis... ;)

But yeah, I share your frustration on the front passenger cooled seat omit.

The Lexicon sound system needs more Bass.

Gas Mileage could be a bit better.

It's too nice - I'm afraid to get it scratched! :)

Other than that, my new Genesis V8 is just awesome. Awesome power, smooth ride. I love blowing away Fords, BMWs, and just about every other sedan on the freeway.

I almost got the Ford Taurus. That's a nice car too...but has various problems and is not in the luxury class yet.

With gas prices in SoCal, the city fuel ecomony is disappointing. I drive mostly on city streets, and there are lots of street lights here, so I'm getting 16-17 MPG. I'm not an aggressive driver, so it must be all the stop-and-gos. other than that, the car is awesome!

Relax, even if you had a car that used half the gas and drive 20,000 miles a year you would only save about $700.00 a year or less than 14.00 a week. Now if gas gets to $8 to $10 a gallon then its something to think about.

But for now "Don't Worry Be Happy"

I too absolutely love my Genny.
I just wish she has automatic folding side mirrors as well as the warm/cool function on the passenger seat and the rear seats.

I agree, power folding mirrors would be nice for long term parking and car washes.

While I like my Genesis 3.8 in every way, I am hoping that it can be downsized (to the size of a BMW 5 series sedan) with the car's next significant model change. Also, with the smaller size, one would have the option of a turbo four diesel or gas engine. The idea of a inexpensive RWD sedan with good economy would make the the Genesis a unique and attractive product. The present (read larger) version would continue under the Equus banner and those wishing a break from $4.00/gallon gas would have the choice of a "smaller" Genesis sedan.

Sounds like the Azera is more like what you want even though it is front wheel drive.
