There is a way to "lift" the wipers off the glass - and have them stay there. It's in the owners manual (page 7-26 of my 2009 model) "Maintenance" chapter, where it discusses how to replace the blades. Basically:
* turn the key ON (don't need to start the engine) or press the START/STOP button twice so the instrument panel lights up, then turn everything back OFF.
* Once the car is OFF, move the wiper control stalk to the "mist" position (lift it UP from the OFF position) and hold it there for a few seconds. After a short bit, the wipers will "swipe" and then freeze. Now you can lift them away from the glass.

As a “new to Hyundai Genesis” car buyer I have two valid complaints.
#1 is the Hyundai corporate web site.
I can’t find any detailed information on things like the Stereo, the Navigation Systems, the User Interfaces etc.
The only thing I could glean from there was that there are two Screen Based Nav Systems available and only the 7” has Touch Screen.
There is zero technical information for Tech Geeks like me to read/compare.
I had to Google and read forums (like this very good one), to do any sort of research on the vehicles.
This leads me to my second complaint, the Dealerships (at least all of them in my area).
I went there to ask specific questions and ended up telling the sells people things they didn’t know about their own cars!
They had no answers for questions like does the DVD Player support MP3 format on DVD and/or CD ?
Does the Nav System override the Aux jack and/or IPod input when speaking directions?
Does the XMTraffic offer Multi Auto-Re-route paths on Slow Traffic conditions?(something here in California we need to know.
…simple stuff like this just drew a blank stare and an “I’ll have to look into that for you”
Hyundai should thank their lucky stars for forums like this one where people actually post up very detailed information and answer detailed questions else I, and I am sure others, would not be able to consider the Genesis as a Luxury car contender (and a fine one at that).
Just buy Lexol Leather Cleaner (not conditioner) and it will be like new...Those cheap all-in-one products did not work for me.This is the reason I only get black interiors.

I agree and I don't like all the water pouring in when I open the trunk after a rain. However, the bluetooth in my V6 - Tech package is the best I've ever heard (ever). No one even knows I have them on bluetooth. My Father's Avalon limited sounds bad, same for my sister's Ford Escape (company car) but my Genesis and DROIDX make a near perfect pair.I have come to love my Genesis more and more over the last year that I have owned it. My other half owns a Goodyear Tire store and upon purchasing the Genesis he immediately looked into different tires. Decision was made two days later because of severe hydroplaning. We decided to go with a 17" Wheel and the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. We live in Idaho and can have rough winter months and relearning to drive a rear wheel drive has been interesting. During the winter months I have Nokian snow tires I run and love. I feel like the car drives and rides like a dream. I love the growl of power when I accelerate. My pet peeves are the trunk not being finished and water drips in after wash or rain and it doesn't open up far enough when my arms are full. My side mirrors seem to be just a couple inches too high and cause me to have a blind spot. I wish the car remained locked even after putting the car in park. (A feeling of security) People tell me when I use the blue tooth they can hardly hear me and sound like I'm in a tunnel. I continue to learn more about the car as I read these posts. Happy New Year to all!

I have 2011 4.6 with tech and the trunk is finished... so I am not sure what is meant by the trunk not being finished.
A large percentage of folks here like the ride just the way it is. I have a 2010 3.8 and bought it largely because of the ride. Different strokes...Car is great ,but need to improve the ride
There are known issues with the Genesis pulling to the left a TSB has been issued for at the '09 edition (I've got '11) yet my service department will not admit the issue could be anything other than potholes. Absolutely nothing else could be the issue.
Mine didn't have anything obvious on it, but it was impossible to get clean, without streaks that would show up in direct sun. I got some Griot's glass polish, applied it with a DA polisher, and the problem was solved. I can now get it completely clean. However, I do have the pitting that others have reported here.My 2011 3.8L arrived with some strange goop (wax, protectorant, smudge, etc.) on the windshield. I have tried about 5 different window/glass cleaners to date with no luck. Anyone else had this experience?
