If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've come across the news about Genesis and Prada making upscale Genny.
Will this Genny with Prida come to US?

Anyone saw this car?

Hyundai has teamed up with Prada to make a limited edition version of the Genesis.

"Limited to only 1,200 units the Genesis Prada will include the 5.0 liter GDI engine that is found in the Equus as well as Saffiano leather interior and trim pieces.

No solid word on price yet but it is expected to be about $75k (79,000,000 won. which is about $72,500 in today's exchange rate)

That's a lot of money for white leather. I hope there will be other differences.

I hope there will be other differences.

Some other differences that jump out at me on first glance:

1. Headlight washers (look below the headlights on the bumper).
2. Front camera (look at the top of the grill).
3. Cooled passenger seat (look at the unusual buttons where the driver and passenger heat buttons are located).
4. Different paint color.
5. Different wheels.

Grill and Lower vent (?) painted body color

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Are you sure none of that stuff will be on the 2012 model?

Remember, this isn't decontented like the USDM Genesis, so will have things like the adjustable air suspension.

I couldn't ever imagine buying a car with a white leather interior. The horrible experiences I have had with tan would only be made that much worse with white. Imagine the blue jeans marks after a year on those seats.

White leather should only be used in cars that are hardly ever drive, not on a daily driver. Just my 2 cents

You're not supposed to wear blue jeans in such an exalted vehicle. You sit in the back in Armani and instruct Jeeves to wear only cotton or poly blend.

Ah yes what was I ever thinking... Ahhhhh that's right... I'm one of the Genesis owners who owns it because I want a luxury car but cant really afford one. Not one of those who is 'trying it out'. I wouldn't know about such things!

LOL:eek:

That was a one-off show car from a while ago.
I love that matt purplish paint.

Dan

Yes- this was a show car from 2009. 20" wheels, front grille camera, unique headlamp washers and matte finish paint, high maintenance cleaning leather interior.

Not a show car anymore...

Hyundai WILL build and sell these Prada babes in Korea this year.
Of course It will be a custom built...

Customize leather color, outside paint color...and I'm sure there are few more goodies and options that you can change or add...

....and of course it will probably cost more than the Equus does here.

Looks like Hyundai gave out First Prada Genesis to a famous Korean Moive star couple, Inpyo & Aera Cha.
Yes, I think they give it out for FREE.
no strings attached...

I suppose that could be a good marketing tactic...

How cum they never call me for something like that?

This version of the Genesis would not sell well at all here in the U.S. That type of leather is not meant to be sat upon on a daily basis because it becomes fuzzy around the edges very easily. Once it does this, it looks very bad. Secondly, real wood compliments this type of leather, that's why when you look at the interior, it looks as if something is missing. In my humble opinion, it's all or nothing. This version of the Genesis is the definition of half stepping.

Ever heard of Lexol leather cleaner?

Removes blue jean marks with ease.

Looks like you are right on the money !

Hyundai will NOT sell Prada version in USA.

They are going to market this in Korea, China and middle East only.
That tells where all the money went...:(

Oh BTW, in Korea, I heard Hyundai already received 100 Prada Genny orders... Not bad for the first week sale
