  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'll start:

1. Because of the Emergency brake is still an old fashioned foot pedal on the left side of the Driver's foot well, like a 1970's American car, the left foot rest is far too low to be useful, and forces me to move closer to the steering wheel to rest the foot on it. Dead pedal would get in the way of the travel of the brake if it were raised now.

Recommendation: Change to a push button parking brake, like Volkswagens have, and raise the foot rest. I believe the cost of this change would be outweighed by the perceived improvement in quality. If I had really noticed this too low left foot rest when test driving, I admit I would not have bought the car

You must drive a 2009- 2010-12 have an electric parking brake located on lower dash left of steering wheel.

Someone also posted long ago (I cant find the post) about how small the left foot rest was. Well in the 2012 Genesis this foot rest is pretty large. I wear a size 11.5 and my foot fits very comfortable on that rest. So Hyundai is listening to their customers.

1- AWD

2 - AWD

3 - Heated Steering Wheel

4 - Blind Side Monitor

5 - fold down rear seat

6 - cooled passenger seat

7 - touchscreen nav on Tech package

8 - rear seat entertainment option

Pretty much in that order, for me

  3. Fully adjustable & Cooled Passenger Seat.
  4. Ability to Unlock all 4-Doors from Drivers door handle button.
  5. Paddle Shifters for Manual Gearchanges.
  6. Heated Rear Seats.
  7. Folding Rear Seats.

Re: #4 - on my 2009 Tech, one push on the drivers door handle button unlocks only the drivers door but two push's will unlock all doors. This may only be available on the Tech version. Can't recall if this is a selectable stting or not.

Agree with your other suggestions but would put the adjustable & cooled passenger seat at the top on my wish list.

This isn't specific to Hyundai but, as a fellow Canuk I would like to see a bit more parity on the price of cars now that our dollar has settled in at par or slightly higher than the US greenback.

I'm happy with the current color choices.

I'll second the cooled and fully adjustable passenger seat.

Being in central Texas, the heated back seat and heated steering wheel are not something I would pay extra for. The leather on the wheel never gets uncomfortably cold. Now, a cooled steering wheel would be another story since it has been over 100 degrees virtually every day for the last two months.

I agree, two pushes unlocks all doors on my car, also. I like the security of the way it works now. I understand a dealer can easily reprogram to make one push unlock all four.

I don't care for paddle shifters.

I would rather have the present super rigid structure than have a folding back seat. A slightly larger pass-thru would be welcome.

I greatly prefer the DIS to a touch screen any day. One thing not mentioned before is the addition of separate day and night brightness control for the display. If it is bright enough for Texas days, it is too bright at night even when it switches to night mode. The worst thing is passing something like a big park where the display lights up the entire car.

1. AWD
2. Blind spot monitoring
3. Fold down rear seats
4. Normal cruise option with the smart cruise control
5. Power folding side view mirrors
6. Vocal climate control command
7. Separate memory FOBs for each driver
8. Visible Bluetooth symbol on map screen when phone is on board

#5 is already standard on the 2012 tech or v8.
#8: i thought the bluetooth symbol is displayed at the bottom of the LCD, though not sure if it's present on the map screen.

Colour choices in Canada are very restricted.
We get Black, White, Grey, Silver, Red & Blue.
Those first four come with Black Leather only while the Red & Blue come with Cashmere only. I really like the White/Cashmere combination but if I want that I'll have to buy a US car.

On the 2009 models you cannot re-programme the drivers door button to unlock all 4 doors (goodness knows I've tried). Not sure about later models.

i've programmed my 2011 v8 to unlock all 4 doors.
you just hold down the lock and unlock buttons together for a few seconds on the remote, and you're done.

1. Shade or position the Tech package SCREEN so it doesn't wash out in bright sun light.

2. Add adjustable extension to the drivers seat. I find the seat is not deep enough. It is an improvement over the drivers seat in my last vehicle which was a Lexus 2007 RX 350.

make it an SUV and maybe i'll be able to own another Genesis lol.. Traded my in today for a new Durango.

just kidding about the make it an SUV, just missing my (wife's) car already!!

I would like to see an R-spec w/ the Luxury appointments (leather dash, alcantara headliner, etc) of the Equus. Something that could go head to head with the Merc CLS/E63 yet be 45 K cheaper.

I have a quote to put in an alcantara headliner in my car. I may pull the trigger in the next few weeks. Totally agree that the headliner in the equus is posh.

Every day I find something that amazes me. Yesterday I figured out that the rear view mirrors automatically turn down when backing up (so that you can directly view the sides of your car) and then return to normal once you put the car back in drive.

Also when backing up, the rear shade goes down and then up when in drive.

The shades make it unnecessary to tint back passenger and rear the windows.

However I am going to do some high tech 80% on the front window that is supposed to be very good at reducing heat.

If you are looking to reject heat, I'd suggest a Ceramic film which has the highest heat rejection rate of any film. It blocks a lot of Infared rays that most films don't block well. A ceramic film will block more heat then the sun shade since the sun shade is perforated. Others on this forum have used Formula 1 Pinnacle and have been very pleased.

Definitely not trying to take away your thunder - as I agree that this is a great feature (side view mirror dropping) But I must also proudly state that my 2002 Acura tl type S ( for sale at a low low price!) also had this feature. Way ahead of it's time for the price of the car.

Still a really awesome feature.

Cheers
