  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It seems by mostly all the answers here Hyundai should open a different division for their high end cars like Toyota with Lexus etc. and rename it. t

Our dealer told us Saturday that they are being told that in three years the Genesis and Equus will split off from the Hyundai brand and be known as a new brand named Genesis. She said that of course things may change between now and then, but that is what they are currently being told. It makes good sense to me.

My new Genesis 4.6 (unlike my '09 Gen) came from the factory in Korea with the trunk already badged with wings! It's so sharp!

I intend to rebadge but I am unclear about the best place to order such things. (Trying to avoid ebay). Any help out there?

Also, I would like to find one of those european style rectangular plates that mounts to the front of the vehicle. (not sure what they're called) I have seen them in photos on here. They simply say "Genesis" on them. Gives the car a nice look.

Thank you in advance for your answers. My genny is a pretty girl. She deserves some jewelery.

I only rebadged the trunk. I also took the Genesis 4.6 off of it as well. So the only thing you see is the Genesis wing in the middle of the trunk.

Creating a separate brand like Toyota did with Lexus will be a very expensive proposition. I think they're going to see how the Equus does first. In the meantime, one local Hyundai dealer is setting up a special area for the Equus. I wish they'd do the same for the Genesis, though I don't expect that they will.

One of the cars I saw yesterday had the wings badge on the trunk. I agree that it looks much better than the standard H logo and sets the car apart.

I was in Korea this year (and previously)...As far as I'm aware, the Genesis is debadged as a Hyundai in America ONLY (likely due to U.S. laws and the potential of a Bentley trademark infringement). Elsewhere (non U.S.), this car is intended to be a distinct & seperate line (as is Acuca/Honda; Toyota/Lexus, etc) from Hyundai's other offerings (as is Bentley from parent VW). In my mind proper rebadging (due to quirks in U.S. law) is akin to 'truth in advertising', restoring the 'intended' badge (al la Equus) to this particular product...Just my novice opinion...

Interesting to note that until recently, in Japan, Lexus & Acura were marketed as Toyota's & Honda's.

Best Regards,

I rebadged the trunk, wheels, and steering wheel, to improve the car's ride and handling. :D

Hyundai will sell every single Equus quickly thank you very much

There is considerable interest in the model, and it hasn't even hit the showrooms yet.

Just bought a Genesis 4.6 that was already re-badged by the dealer. His entire inventory had the wings. I like the look and wouldn't change a thing. I suspect there would be very few if any who would by a Genesis from this dealer and ask to have the wings removed in favor of the original 'H' badge. I wouldn't be surprised to see future Genny's rebadged from the factory just due to the popularity of the wing emblems.

I'm a new owner who discovered the rebadging after a purchase with the trunk wings. I didn't realize the issue but once I checked out the wheels and steering wheel possibilities I ordered the kits. Just think they are classier looking. BTW, I bought the Genesis because of the comfortable seats. My wife and I both have back problems; and have searched high and low for a comfortable car seat (including Caddi, Lexus, Lincoln, etc.) and finally found one that was good for us. Imagine my surprise that it was a Hyundai.

Black Front and Rear Badges

Can someone point me to the picture that was previously posted of the Genesis Front and Rear badges that were sprayed with a rubber compound to make them look black.
I am in process of purchasing a 2012 Titanium Genesis and would like to consider putting these modified badges on it.

SFR------Be CAREFUL when you order

I ordered a rebadge set(airbag, trunk and wheel caps) from SFR and clicked on V6 w/18" wheels assuming I would get the correct (non flat) caps for my '12. Obviously I got the flat caps which don't look right and aren't correct for my car.
My question to you is can I buy the 3M tape backed emblems to put over my oem cap emblems?
I emailed them(SFR) in Pa. last nite and have yet to be emailed back and I've called both numbers that I've found for them. No answer at either number except a message about their business hours-which they obviously don't adhere to(lol).
Anybody else have experience with them or pray tell is anyone from SFR on this forum?

Did mine today...note: the steeringwheel badge i got with the four wheel inserts fits perfectly without using the doublestick pad that came with it. it had super sticky stuff on the rear after I took off the plastic!!!! I am HAPPY!

Go to Ebay, do a search for KDM, many sources. I am sure if you go back in this thread there will be links to sources.

Badges cost approx $ 25-30 and take 15-20 minutes to remove existing rear badge and place both badges on the car. You need WD40, dental floss, and a wirecutter type nipper or a dremel grinding tool.

Several hundred dollars is totally outrageous.
Got my rebadge kit for $42.00 all four wheels and steeringwheel badge...came in Hyundai sealed packages...got my rear wings from Kore3a on Ebay for 13.50 incl shipping (on both items)

Just an idea here.I've got a platinum R Spec. I took it to a body shop and to fill the holes in the trunk and paint the entire lid but also paint the sections of the grill that match the color of the car black would cost about $600. Obviously the cost of the grill is what makes the job expensive. Masking off the chrome sections and repainting the painted parts is, obviously, labor intensive.

At first I wasn't but I just couldn't resist the matte black trunk emblem. It's on it s way.

Quick question for you re-badgers:
Do you also somehow remove the Hyundai decals from the windows? Like the roadside assistance 800#?

My window tint guy removed all that when tinting my windows, only bad thing is now I should program the number so that I have it on me.
