  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I suspect they didn't grind down the inserts sufficiently. As a result the badge wasn't flush and tight against the hood, allowing the airflow to get under the badge as I was driving down the highway. The two-sided tape wasn't strong enough to hold the badge. Still undecided if I should replace it or keep it as is.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I love the front badge. I'd go right ahead and put it on. I was able to use a set of needle nose pliers and break the posts off. The posts are brittle plastic so it is easy. Takes 15 minutes if your careful. I was able to actually get the posts broken off below flush.

Once you break off the post, use a box-cutter to trim below flush...works out great.

Just an update for those of you who responded to this comment:

I did order another hood badge and put this one on myself, with no problem. I used a Dremmel tool (which the dealership didn't have) to cut off and grind down the stems. That worked perfectly, and I was able to attach the wings firmly and securely to the hood. Took her out for a day trip yesterday and it held up just fine, even at interstate speeds. Got lots of looks and stares from folks -- not me, the car.

Still didn't get an answer from anyone on where to order the entire rebadging kit. I queried my dealer on it where we bought the Genesis and he mentioned it would cost a couple hundred bucks, but not impressed with most dealership works, so thought I'd do it myself, but need one of you to clue me in on where to order from.

Ebay is your best source

Try this for example... there might be better deals so do a search.

You might not want the wheel caps or maybe you want the 18" wheel caps. You can do the 18" wheel caps yourself but it is a DIY project. From what I understand it is easy though.

Anyone change out the Flying H with wings on the key fob?

You could get one of these. Seems massively overpriced to me though.

Go to Ebay, do a search for KDM, many sources. I am sure if you go back in this thread there will be links to sources.

Badges cost approx $ 25-30 and take 15-20 minutes to remove existing rear badge and place both badges on the car. You need WD40, dental floss, and a wirecutter type nipper or a dremel grinding tool.

Several hundred dollars is totally outrageous.

You are definitely right about being overpriced. I'm trying to contact the guy in Korea who did my wheel caps for a better price. If we get more interest on these the price should be reasonable.

I bought mine from the gift shop located in the lobby of Hyundai Motors headquarters.
I think I paid something like $34 at that time.

The one on ebay is 60 bucks after shipping!
$40 would've been fair. $60? No thanks.

When I bought my wheel caps from our member in Korea (Gary Gienger) for $120, I shipped the originals to be modified. He can also include the front and rear wings for $8.00 and $7.00 to save on shipping. You can't beat that price!

I think he is referring to the key fob cover. I sent a message to Gary to see if he can locate...

I bought my 2010 Genesis pre-badged on trunk only. Am considering wheel and hood badging as well.

Yeah, I was referring to the leather key fob cover.
Looks nice and all, but $60 is pretty expensive.
Heck, for $60 I could've bought a brand new key fob(remote) that has the Genesis logo on it.

I didn't bother with the hood badge, just the rear, wheels and steering wheel.

I have a 2005 Sonata (I purchased new) and will be getting the 2010 or 2011 Genesis V6 with Tech pkg in the next month or so. I have already looked at the emblems and will change them out once I get the car. Hyundai should use them instead of the H anyway, to make a statement on the brand.

2010 Genesis 4.6 V8

Continental Contact Extreme DWS 235-50-18
Airbag Module with wing emblem
Wing emblem on Trunk
Wing emblem Center Wheel Caps

You can purchase the Hood Wing emblem from Koreauto World with the post already removed. I prefer no badge on the hood.

It seems by mostly all the answers here Hyundai should open a different division for their high end cars like Toyota with Lexus etc. and rename it. I don't own a Genesis yet but when I first saw one I liked it. To be honest the first thing that came to my mind is Who would spend 40k for a Hyundai ? It's just a normal response I guess since Hyundai is best known to make affordable small cars. If it were me I would debadge it also and would definitely get one. The wings look great
