Genesis Prada Headlights

I have a 2009 Genesis 4.6 and I am looking at these:

Does anyone have any experience? Any good stories? Bad stories?

I have no experience with the headlights but here is my two cents... They look very nice but are you seriously going to put that much money into new headlights for a car about 3 years old?

If you were involved in a fender bender or hit a deer and needed to replace the headlights I would consider it. You'd only be out the difference between them and stock replacements and not the full $1'500.

The way I look at it the average person keeps their car about 5 years? If you wanted to bling up your new 2012 I could see you getting a good five years enjoyment out of the upgrade. Since you're talking about a 2009 I'm wondering if you'll be looking for a 2014 Genesis anyhow and you will have only gotten a couple years use out of an expensive upgrade that will not affect it's selling price.

Careful about the electronics integration - those are fully-self-adjusting/leveling headlights - you may not have the proper hardware/software needed to have a set of working headlights if you replace them.

I guess KAI can answer that for you though.

That's correct. I had to have one replaced, and they have to be mated to the car's computer system. Of course, only a dealer has these tools. You can put them in, but they won't self-level w/out the dealer linking them to the computer.

I'm not so sure the dealer has to be involved to "set" the headlights. I had one replaced and my auto body shop installed this lens with no problem with the auto level, cornering.... Maybe body shops have the capability also.
