  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is your biggest complaint about the Hyundai Genesis?

There probably aren't enough 2012s on the road yet to provide a meaningful sample.

This thread is only about complaints, not "meaningful samples." Please read the title.

You're the one that said "I've noticed that there are not very many complaints here about 2012 models"....

He just gave you the reason for your observation...In order to have many complaints.....you have to have "meaningful sample".....Geeeeeezze!!

How many complaints constitute a "meaningful sample?"

Geez!

How many complaints constitute a "meaningful sample?"

Geez!

Listen.....You have to have a meaningful sample of 2012's on the road, before you start seeing any complaints....The 2012 is too new right now and there is not a meaningful sample of them on the road to have "Many Complaints"........GET IT??

It's not our fault that you didn't listen in statistics class.

GEEEEEEZZZZE !

Stop trying to play a "statistician on TV." Also, stop trying to tell folks the title of this thread. The title is complaints, not statistics.

Even if you don't own a 2012, you can still comment on it, silly boy.

Maybe you should start your own thread and call it "meaningful samples?" Then you can tell us all what constitutes a meaningful sample.

1. Lack of vertical movement on passenger seat.
2. The low front end that drags on curbs and parking bumpers that tear up the stuff underneath!

I have a couple on my 2012. No power outlet for the rear seat or trunk, no folding shopping bag hooks in the trunk, no side bins in the trunk, no mute for the sound system otherwise I love it.

Are your last three posts a meaningful sample of what you usually contribute?

Feel free not to read my posts.

I misjudged you. Great post. Is there an "Ignore Poster" feature on this board?

DG - I still have XM Traffic. It is worthless with the Genesis. On a Garmin Nuvi, it can be very useful. I used to pick my commute route by the real-time traffic updates.

Biggest complaint - I don't need a new car, so it's awesomeness is extremely distracting. I'd compete for the most informed consumer on this forum that's not in the market for a car - my '02 Jetta wagon 1.8T still has plenty of life in it, unfortunately (I'm saying this out loud as to maximize the probably of a jinx...or maybe saying that un-jinxed me...argh).

Re "Ignore Poster" - go to User CP | Settings & Options | Edit Ignore List and enter the poster's name there.

2012 3.8 Premium:

1. Gave up on iPhone 4 integration for music. Relying on a USB flash drive for music
2. Steering wheel feel - leather feels too hard and can be uncomfortable

How about a little more info on the USB plz.

A usb drive works very well. I have a 16gig with about 2000 songs on it. Most all are recorded at 320 for best sound quality.

I really am not happy with the intermittent windshield wipers. I like to turn them to slow and have it stay there in medium rain. The Genesis system speeds it up if it feels the rain is coming too heavy for the speed I selected.

This is a good discussion topic, but it helps if owners could tell us in their profiles just exactly what year their car is and what options it has. This also helps some of us construct meaningful samples of opinions.

In my case, I would like my auto setting to wipe at MY time interval choice, rather than sensing when the windshield is "wet enough." This rain sending concept stinks. Plus, it risks damage in car washes if I forget to turn it off. I've got enough on my mind w/o worrying about my wiper settings!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you drive a Genesis you don't bother with little money. Just never carry anything smaller than a 20 and always tell the other person or cashier etc to keep the change. Problem solved.

I have to agree. Ya know in Germany, many men carry change purses. That's not a put-down; it's the way it is.

I've got a 2012 Titanium Gray 3.8. Tech Package. Overall I'm very happy with the car...That's to say I'd buy it again (different color)

Here's a complaint I haven't seen posted. I have the Titanium Gray and during highway driving every time I drive into the sun at some point the Glare off the hood is blinding!

I have the same problem with the black dashboard which I've stopped putting Armor All on (Dahhh), but its still has a problem with glare which I use a black cloth to cover that portion of the dash when driving into the sun on bright days.

I never saw that problem coming!

I also get a lot of wash out on the NAV screen when the sun is bright.

I agree that the XM NAV is useless when compared to any other "Live" Traffic system.
I still use WAZE on my Android phone when I need to be concerned about traffic issues.

Another complaint is the lack of ability to turn off the ESC System when I don't want it.
On my Chrysler 300C/SRT8 I could choose from 100%, 50%, or OFF by pressing/holding the ESC Button.

Also I personally don't like the way the Cruise Control works in radar mode all of the time.
It should have a Non-Radar mode like other cars have for roads that trip it up a lot, like roads with many small hills.

My last complaint is the massive Orange Peel below the Door Guard Strips.
I detail my own cars and I've never seen so much peel on any car at any price.

All-in-all these are small complaints when compared to the thing I like/love about the car.

I have no trouble turning off ESC on my 2011 4.6
