Got my v8 now and wanted to introduce myself on the board. (I was told that I bought the first one in the Philadelphia area but that sounds like dealer BS to me.) Anyways, I love the car. If you can believe it, I was actually shopping for a new civic to complement my bmw 528. Saw the commercials and went to take a look.. Didn't take more than a good lease deal to get my heart set on genesis. Actually, I bought the v6 model first, and then begged my dealer for a redo when their first black v8 came in with the tech package. I think the v6 rode better. The tech package is a must on this car. The v6 didn't have it and the v8 does. Not as much need for the additional 85 horsepower but the tech package is really sweet. I would miss the later, but not the former, for anyone looking to make a choice. The gas mileage on the v8 sucks...so far much worse than I expected.
This is one nice car. I'm toying with the logo change and already purchased the clear film for it (but not installed based on some forum members' views). Re the film, the BMW really took some shots on the front (chips from various road construction in the NJ/PA area) and I would very much like to avoid that on this car. Other interesting thing is I took deliver of her without the normal dealer prep and detail. It was all wrapped-up as it was during shipment. I should have taken some pictures of the detailed way in which Hyundai protected the seats, handles, trim, etc. Even the seat buckles were individually wrapped for protection. This car is all about the details, not brand image. That said, I'm not selling the BMW quite yet as it does offer a different ride experience and is also quite a pleasure to drive. It is destined to become the 'second' car however!
